Really smart read. I feel this from people all the time, I only read my news, I don’t watch tv news or cable (never have) as given my creative career I know how effective motion/film/sound is & how that can be dangerous, add in incentive of enragement = engagement = £ and voila.
This from @JamieJBartlett really worth reading about the context in which the American election and indeed our own politics operating - before people settle on policy areas as problematic for progressives ask how they know they are a problem 👇 open.substack.com/pub/jamiej…

Love to see UX best practice in action - yes, government should be talking to “users” gathering insights and then using that to shape product priorities!

Also enjoying all of the critique in the comments, and people jumping to lots of different solutions and not recognising the irony and thus proving the need to do a proper listening job.

Sport and the creative industries are a power house of growth and opportunity in the UK, as well as bringing joy to so many. Fascinating discussion at #ukinvestment summit on what more we can do to put “rocket boosters” under these brilliant sectors in every part of our country.

Follow the Money:
For the past six months, I’ve been trying to figure out why the tech industry – and in particular crypto – have been pouring so much money into political races. The answer is bigger, and much more wide-ranging, than we think, and it appears in the New Yorker today. newyorker.com/magazine/2024/…

Absolutely agree! Literally thought this at the weekend when someone commented on my children because they were *speaking* in public and not zombied on a screen. Being 4 with a thought to share is not “loud” 🤣

For the record, my lockdown baby did go to nursery toilet trained, knowing what books are and cycling - less commenting on the full article then the OP about socialising kids in the community. Socialising parents to ideas is also critical, esp first timers.

Interesting what the threat of potential legislation can suddenly make companies do. They’ve always been able to do this, just didn’t feel the pressure to do it before… let’s hope this is the start of more safeguards.

“You can’t come to the vice president and just ask her to do something,” said another staffer. “You need to have a why.” Outrageous! Staffers should be able to order their bosses around without offering any explanation. What kind of a toxic work environment is this?? smdh
