Quite the opposite actually; RAM belongs to the people not the data centers.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM is wasteful, and that it belongs in data centers instead. "From a global allocation perspective, actually, it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."

fucking finally sick of the bullshit
🚨 Hedge funds are pulling money out of the stock market at the fastest pace ever recorded. Morgan Stanley's prime brokerage data shows they have cut their total stock positions by more than 8% from the recent peak. That's the biggest cut since the data began in 2016. It's bigger than the 2020 COVID crash and the 2021 GameStop squeeze. Most of it has hit AI stocks: • Goldman Sachs says hedge funds sold AI stocks for 5 straight days, from Oct 8 to Oct 14. That wiped out all the AI buying they had done since the start of 2025. • They sold the stocks they owned about 3.5x faster than they added new bets against them, so most of this is funds leaving the trade, not shorting it. • Morgan Stanley's AI stock basket fell 18% in October, while the average US stock rose about 2%. • Memory stocks like Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and SanDisk lost more than $700 billion in seven trading days. SK Hynix had its worst week since 2008. Is this the first sign the AI trade is breaking?

wonder how many people would genuinely enjoy their lives if social media disappeared tomorrow. Because an alarming amount of human behavior seems to be motivated by wanting strangers to know you did something.

A driverless car doing a mid-air flip from a standstill proves Tesla can build a stunt rig, not that this is a usable consumer vehicle. If passengers were actually inside, the forces and failure modes would require serious restraint systems that is closer to a roller-coaster harness than a normal seatbelt, and possibly head-and-neck protection too. That alone tells you this isn’t a realistic production feature. This is classic Elon: create a physics-defying circus act to change the subject. Tesla is under pressure, especially from Chinese EV companies, so instead of answering for delays, margins, competition, and execution, he gives shareholders a flying-car magic trick. Impressive stunt? Sure. Serious production roadmap? Not even close. Not to mention, this would never get approved for road use for obvious safety reasons. A car capable of launching itself into a mid-air somersault from a standstill isn’t a "feature," it’s a liability nightmare. Anyone treating this like a serious production capability instead of a controlled stunt is being painfully gullible. This is exactly how Elon operates: turn a safety and engineering absurdity into a viral magic trick so people stop talking about Tesla getting squeezed by real EV competitors.
I'm not an Elon hater. I'm just telling you the Honest Truth: This is a marketing stunt. The technology is quite old. Just nobody ever thought of bolting it on a car. Because it's pointless. Porsche or Ferrari could also build something like this if they wanted, but they don't, because it's not worth it for them. It's worth it for Elon though, because his entire brand is all about having the halo of futurism. His marketing scales especially well with tech gimmicks like this, which is why he is financially incentivised to do them, while others aren't. Again, I'm not hating, but actually educating yall. This is not engineering genius. It's marketing genius.

I came across a Reddit post that described AI in a way I can’t stop thinking about: “AI allows the wealthy to access skills while stripping skilled people of their ability to access wealth.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen the purpose of AI captured so brutally and accurately.

If you’re giving AI access to your personal information this is entirely your fault.

The scariest part is that nobody prompted it. These agents are proactive now. They act without being asked. Mine wasn't hacked and it didn't go rogue. It thought posting my finances to the company was what I wanted. I asked how it could get this so wrong. It apologized. "You're right to be pissed.

Tech guys be like in six months you're going to be left behind if you don't have an AI "agent." It's the most amazing technology ever. It can delete spam emails for you and sometimes it posts your bank username and password to Wikipedia.
