Pretty easy to win an election when you’re the only party fighting for people’s property rights. No doubt that this was the issue that throttled Eby.

“You can’t build a provincial economy on whale watching and coffee shops.” We need to be a province that builds, makes and creates. We need a provincial industrial strategy and we need to get serious about the loss of industrial land to real estate speculation. Once industrial land is converted to other uses, it is extraordinarily difficult, if not impossible, to get it back. And without that land, where exactly do we expect the next generation of manufacturers, skilled tradespeople and industrial employers to go? This is one of the most consequential challenges we face in British Columbia, with a lot of damage already done. I hope the new government makes it an urgent priority.
Do you have the video clip where you said "You cannot build an economy on whale watching and coffee shops"? Want to use it for this week's podcast episode. I suspect it'll go viral LOL 📈

In the span of seven days... Victoria Council was pruned to a 4-4 balance, Saanich and Langford Councils were demolished, and massive shifts to the centre happened in Sooke and Metchosin. On top of all that the BC NDP government itself was all but destroyed with Eby resigning on the spot and literally going home. All gone. All at once. Not sure what I'm gonna do with my time now... Maybe tomorrow I'll take a day off. I'm tired. See you on Monday, everybody. #bcpoli

Besides David Eby, the biggest loser last night was Emily Lowen. Her speech last night was highly partisan, angry, and an attack on business, industry and capitalism. She sounded like Greta Thunberg with a hangover.
