“What software systems do you model as being predictably exploitable given a frontier-class AI?” I think the correct answer rounds to “There is a token budget sufficient to compromise virtually any software system of interest. Only interesting variable is how much.”

Memorization has an unfairly negative reputation. I recently spent a few hours memorizing the names of all the countries in the world and it's such a clear improvement in how well I can understand and reason about other topics. Memorization is scaffolding for more complex ideas

When the foreign acquirer starts understanding how things work post acquisition in India. A decade ago Rocket Internet learnt this the hard way - had all the evidence against top management cheating them of 100crs. Tried legal way, went nowhere. Eventually they exited India. ‘Founders’ now chilling with 💰 - some are celebrated angel investors.

Michael Phelps went six years without missing a day of training. 365 days a year. Christmas morning, New Year's, Thanksgiving. People assume I made him do that. It was the other way around. 🧵

Exactly. Another explanation is that the improved/beautified environment creates sort of an opposite broken window effect = people feel less comfortable committing crime in an area that feels cared for and utilized

I'm puzzled: people once hated/distrusted merchants, but loved/respected aristocrats. Today they hate big business leaders, but trust people to assigned high govt administrative positions. I can see respecting priests, warriors, and performers, but why inherited fancy dressers?

Unfortunately, submitting a paper to a journal is still a grind. Agents help, but the journal-agents now check every fiddly detail. Does the title page list keywords? Do they match the ones you typed into the portal? When checking gets cheap, u get more checking. AI panopticon.

As an Indian, I've derived far greater monetary benefit from Google's cost-free services (such as search) than Google has derived from me by serving me targetted ads. Google users in richer countries, in effect, subsidize my use of Google technologies.
