Mapped out the interactions I had during an 8 week mental health crisis for a uni essay. Strange to see a visual representation of the chaos and overwhelm I felt at the time which mental health services gaslighted me about. Thanks @touretteshero for your help and ideas

As a deaf gay man, I suddenly feel rather ‘alone’ and ‘unsafe’ @WFDeaf_org’s position of neutrality is sending a horrific message. WFD isn’t what I expect. What a scary world we are living in right now #wfd2023 we need to change the hosting nation @drjosephjmurray

The results of the world’s largest trial of a 4-day week (with no loss of pay) are out: ▪️ No drop in revenue ▪️ 65% fewer sick days ▪️ 71% less burnout ▪️ 92% of companies decide to keep the policy after the trial The conclusion is clear: we need a shorter working week.

‘It’s the same in other places’ is an excuse, not a reason. Precedent doesn’t make it ok. #Bristol @BristolCouncil DO BETTER. Set a better precedent. Show that a #CAZ can be done fairly. Set a standard of #DisabledAccess to admire, not to sink to. 3/3

‘registration’ system for Bristol is not straightforward and not accessible. It is a complex system on a complex website. Or by phone - also inaccessible for many disabled people. The time limits are unforgiving. The fines are obscene. 2/3 bristol.gov.uk/residents/str…

This ⬇️. The excellent @johnpringdns on @wonderfullyarty’s experience of the discriminatory impact of the bureaucracy of CAZ. Disability admin, as well as simply existing, is already exhausting. Managing more admin will just push people closer to/over the edge. The blue badge 1/3

.@telegram Hello! I just wanted to say that I think your new premium speech-to-text feature should be a free feature, because it's a disability access thing and accessibility should not be a premium feature. Thank you.

🧵 In June 2020 my friend Zoe Zaremba ended her life after enduring years of neglect & abusive care from Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust. At her inquest the coroner found TEWV had breached Zoe's human rights and contributed to her death.1/ researchgate.net/publication…

I posted earlier this week about how using deadlines and anxiety as motivators when you have ADHD stops working one day What I didn't mention is the worst part: the anxiety and deadlines don't actually go away, you just can't use them to get yourself to do things anymore.

Processing delays make me more subservient than I’d like. When someone brings up something I’ve done “wrong”, I think for a second, agree with them, feel awful and then apologise. But, an hour later I remember that I did exactly what they asked and wish I could revoke my apology.

Many thanks to @NickFletcherMP for his time to meet local #Deaf Community members this afternoon to discuss local #BSL issues - both positive and negatives. Nick is aware of BSL Bill introduced in Parliament so he will discuss more with the Ministers #BSLActNow #SignLanguageAct

Today @matthancock will attempt to persuade the Commons that he's behaved impeccably throughout this pandemic - and that Cummings’ accusations of serial lying are, themselves, a lie. But the fact is, @matthancock *has* lied during the pandemic - and I can prove it. (1/16)

Reading an article from 1999 that begins a) diets don't work, b) weight fluctuation is associated with increased mortality, c) chronic dieting is an ED risk factor 22 years later we're doing the same research to prove the same points. Exasperated beyond actual belief.

#winterbourne10 Before/During/After an ATU. Possible because he had luck to have family who weren't too afraid to protest when the right support wasn't forthcoming. Why did he have to endure #humanrights abuse to have his needs met? @GavinWilliamson @MattHancock
