they should make a "hark tuah" subscription tier
Hark launches this week. The first 100,000 sign-ups get a paid plan for free
I don't do anything without Hark anymore. The team has obsessed over every detail, and it shows. Can't wait to see how you all use it

Digital Optimus is another level above with photons in controls out
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution
GOOD NEWS 🇨🇳 Chinese news outlet 21财经 just published an article which should confirm that the rumor is true 🔥
According to the reporters who got the news from supply chain sources, a Tesla team arrived in Ningbo on September 16 and launched a new round of factory audits today (September 17) dedicated to mass production for its robotics division 🔥
Reporters learned that this round of audits directly targets volume production, with relevant orders already placed with supply chain partners 🔥
Under the current plan, Tesla expects roughly 50,000 Optimus robots to roll off the assembly line in 2026 for deployment across its Gigafactories worldwide 🔥
However, purchasing channels remain unavailable to general consumers 🙏
[ RUMOR ] 🇨🇳 Tesla robotics R&D and production executives have arrived in China to begin the final round of factory audits across the Optimus supply chain, visiting suppliers in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Xiamen ahead of large-scale mass production in October 🔥
This rumor has been making the rounds all day across Chinese investor circles—popping up on forums like Jiuyan Gongshe and Xueqiu, private WeChat groups, and Xiaohongshu. None of it is officially confirmed yet, so take it with a grain of salt 🧂

I learned today if you open a Waymo trunk at the start of your ride it will auto open when exiting!
Something else for Tesla to consider implementing with Cybercab & Model Y Robotaxi

TL;DR: Tesla bulls are shockingly accurate about how the average person actually feels about robotaxis.

vision upgrade? 👀
signal im tracking for mass scale robotaxi is when FSD Vision is upgraded to be able to see thin/round objects at low speed. e.g: Chuck Cook's test on the thin chain
gotta give props to Instructional Investors for their questions last couple of earning calls $TSLA
Tesla is edging with Optimus so hard, not a single component shown in their factory pics $tsla

With Tesla's Q2 earnings call this week, I'm sadly going in with much different expectations. I really don't know how much we can believe of what Tesla and Elon say
I'm only sharing this with the hope that Elon and Tesla will recalibrate and learn to underpromise and overperform rather than the opposite which creates new, unnecessary attack vectors and disillusionment of many Tesla fans and investors. If these goals are so uncertain, please just don't share them. Say whatever you want internally, but to say them publicly and not even get close does nothing but hurt the company and many following it
In just a few of the most recent calls Elon said the following:
Q2 '25: "I believe half of the population of the US will be covered by Tesla's Robotaxi by the end of the year."
Reality: not even close
Q3 '25: "We do expect to be operating robotaxi in, I think, about eight to ten metro areas by the end of the year."
Reality: 1
Q3 '25: "We expect to be operating in Nevada, Florida, and Arizona by the end of the year."
Reality: none
Q4 '25: "In terms of taxi vehicles carrying paid customers, I think we're well over 500 at this point between the Bay Area and Austin. This will probably double every month type of thing."
Reality: number largely stayed flat and Unsupervised is much smaller
I love Tesla and have been a superfan for well over a decade. I'm not here for short term $TSLA performance. But this is far more than just a one-off mistake or single moment of hubris. This is clearly a trend and as someone who holds Tesla to a higher standard, I'd love to see them do better with setting expectations. And further, if you do miss a timeline that was very public, communicating the reasons transparently would go a very long way to maintaining credibility going forward

Do legacy media outlets typically use headlines involving the make of a car in a crash or is that only for Tesla?
It would be one thing if the self-driving malfunctioned but the crash was purely human-induced.
Seems like these outlets want to associate Tesla with crashes as part of a narrative and overall political agenda.
If you are upset about $TSLA, just know Tesla's TAM got much bigger after Elon's 2025 Compensation Package. Their AI Infra play will be massive
Bullish on Tesla Megapod
The mega bull case for AI infrastructure would be *if* market share shifted away from certain frontier labs with 90%+ inference margins toward cheaper models, whether open-source or closed.
It would increase the ROI on AI spend for end customers by increasing intelligence per dollar, which would drive incremental token demand. Margin dollars would effectively get redistributed from the frontier labs to AI infrastructure providers. The infra winners would be those with the lowest per token cost and the winners at the model layer would be those with the highest token efficiency.
There are many reasons Jensen is so focused on open source, but this is likely the most important one as I think he is probably less worried about a monopsony these days. Lower margin % at the model layer = more margin $ at the infra layer all else equal.
With SpaceX and Meta being vertically integrated and possessing the #3 and #4 models respectively it is more possible than ever. Note that Grok 4.5 is ahead of Fable for some useful tasks at a much lower cost, so ranking them #3 is conservative.
This is not happening yet. Cheap, mostly open source tokens are likely the majority of volume today but the majority of economic value is still accruing to the most intelligent models. Might change though.
We will see.

CRITICAL FSD disengagement at highway speed.
Details:
~ car was extremely indecisive taking the exit
~ You can see right before I disengaged, the steering wheel was turning slightly left toward the barrier
~ also waited until the very last minute, cutting across 4 lanes to make the exit in under 10 seconds
~ I believe it was going to drive into the barrier
~ Mad Max mode
~ The car behind me was cut also about to collide due to this indecisiveness
~ FSD v14.3.4 on 2026.14.6.12
~ Completely sunny day, sun was above not in frony (no glare)
~ All cameras were clean
~ Houston
I am a very grateful and avid FSD user, but never in my 3 years of usage have I experienced such a critical disengagement. I made sure to mark it as critical in the menu. Also, the video clip doesn't really justify how much I had to swerve and avoid that barrier, also having to accelerate hard since the car behind me didn't expect that.
Please repost and share so @teslasi can see this and fix it 🙏
