I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. Lots of people have asked how I use Claude Code, so I wanted to show off my setup a bit. My setup might be surprisingly vanilla! Claude Code works great out of the box, so I personally don't customize it much. There is no one correct way to use Claude Code: we intentionally build it in a way that you can use it, customize it, and hack it however you like. Each person on the Claude Code team uses it very differently. So, here goes.

Stop shipping the next big model. Ship better dev tools. What we don't have: → Parallel agent management (Antigravity is the right direction, but barebones) → Spec generation (Conductor is close, solid attempt) Merge these two. That's the unlock. @OpenAI, @AnthropicAI, @Google

i use in plan mode opus 4, but for executing plan i want to use sonnet 4. i cant switch model between. when in plan mode, i have to decline plan, switch model and then say implement it - just uncomfortable and polluting context @AnthropicAI

🔥 EVERYONE HERE IN DIGITAL ART: Take your collection seriously. You don't have to be one of these whales for your collection to MATTER. 🔥 You don't have to have a collection that's [currently] worth $ XXX,XXX+ or $ X,XXX,XXX+ to take your collection seriously, because we have no idea how historically significant it will be one day OR what it will be worth in 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 years [It's worth acknowledging that historically significant doesn't always = worth lots of money, there's a correlation but it isn't 100%, but historically significant will still MATTER] You don't have to have spent much on it, maybe you're an artist who's focused mostly on creating who doesn't think of themselves as a collector, but you have a collection of work that you got for free for trade, or from free mints on @ourZORA and @manifoldxyz during the bear Maybe you're a collector but can't afford 1/1s by any artists with any name recognition, you have a bunch of open editions ❤️ I know it can feel like your collection doesn't matter, but it does ❤️ I know it can feel like you aren't an "art collector" if you aren't one of the whales who's being interviewed about their $5m+ collection But you must treat your collection seriously if you are alive and collecting anything in the 2020s because you have no idea how UNUSUAL this opportunity is to be one of the 0.001% of people who are collecting any digital art AT ALL and to be alive at the VERY BEGINNING of the tokenization of it _______ What do I mean by "take your collection seriously"? Mostly it's a mindset thing. If you take it seriously: - you're thoughtful about how you set up your wallets (I recommend using @punk6529's TAP protocol) - you're diligent about opsec/security/careful what you click on - you understand the different file storage protocols and how vulnerable some of them are and you backup and pin your collection using @club_nft AND keep your own local file backups of the art - you keep collecting, even if you're collecting free and cheap things because you're broke, because you remember that Cryptopunks were a free mint - you think of yourself as an art collector, and do what you can to showcase your collection, take opportunities in your community to display art and support artists - you consider how you will pass on your collection to any heirs because you may not live to see its full historical significance but your progeny will be so thankful - you read and learn about art history with specific focus on the 20th century so that you understand all of this in context and how it's a natural progression of previous art movements that go back more than 100 years _______ If you had a time machine and could back to 1965 and hang out in the Factory, even if you were broke (most of them were!), wouldn't you be collecting anything free, bartering anything to get prints to hold on to, trading your work with other artists, taking tons of pictures, saving ephemera like posters and fliers and ticket stubs, befriending everyone who turned out to be a major influential artist, spending as much time in there as possible? 👏 The difference between folks who may not have the most [currently] valuable/important collection, but who still take their collection SERIOUSLY, is that they KNOW that it is 1965 and they are hanging out in the Factory. 👏 Take your collection [and your network here] seriously. 🌷🌷🌷
I don’t think some of you are getting this yet Here me now when I say: You are insufficiently bullish digital art. And you are underestimating the importance future historians will attribute to this moment in the art canon. The moment that changes everything A digital renaissance that cannot not be stopped And soon, it will not be able to be contained Read this interview w my fren @RaoulGMI This is more than an interview This is a look directly into the minds and methods of the ultra wealthy Raoul is in fact, one of those he speaks of, who are coming for your JPEGs A man celebrating his gains, by preserving these gains in the finest of irreplaceable, non-fungible cultural artifacts. If you are reading this, YOU LIKELY *OWN* A PART OF THIS HISTORICAL MOMENT Mark my words, but it is not just me. History is about to play out for this art movement, as it has with every other. Read this, and let us revel in these special times we are in

1/ On Rarity We just updated / finalized the rarity calculations for Pebbles on Seize and thought it would be a good opportunity to talk about "rarity" in NFTs. It is a topic that I think is harder than it looks.

Wow Sora is so amazing, I wanted to really push it to the limits and see how it would handle a very complex prompt: “A 45-45-90 right triangle divides in half within itself repeatedly to create an organized fractal structure with self similarity, increasing in size from small at the top left to large at the bottom right, the whole structure is gradually growing from the top left point as the origin to create a seamless loop over 8 seconds, the individual triangles form platforms like a staircase descending downwards and have small rounded corners, as they move towards the bottom of the screen they each divide in half and one half moves downwards slightly to create another step and then the halves should divide in half again and one moves downwards to create one more step, after the second division curved cut-outs inside the triangles emerge upwards in a mechanical motion to form a continuous winding curved path towards the top of the structure, the edges of the path cutouts should be visible in the floor before they emerge so the viewer can anticipate the path being formed, after the path pieces move into place three Adélie penguins hop upwards along the path chasing a bright turquoise butterfly, the penguins should be hopping like the penguins in the following videos [giphy.com/gifs/butterfly-pen…, gettyimages.com/detail/video…, giphy.com/gifs/animated-bird…] and should be progressing up the path while staying visually centered onscreen, the animation of the triangle platforms dividing and path forming and penguins hopping should be visually clear from top to bottom and arranged in such a way that you can look anywhere in the image to focus on a certain part of the story yet also be able to follow along from top to bottom to watch how the story unfolds throughout the image, the platforms should all be made of an elegant slightly reflective light wooden floor and white walls like a contemporary art museum, as each path segment moves upwards into place it is revealed that it is built on reflective chrome columns, lighting in the room is dark except for a single spotlight following the penguins and thin neon tube lighting around the edge of each triangle platform placed just below the floor level so that when the platforms divide and descend it reveals the neon light from the platform behind it which lights up the edges of the newly formed triangles and makes their form clear to the viewer's eye, some more neon lights inside the edge of the gap left by the path segments rising to form the path, the large dark triangle that makes up the upper right corner should be divided repeatedly by subtly glowing lines in a similar structure to the main layout but moving in the opposite direction as if to suggest that the 45-45-90 triangle on which the whole structure is based is being gradually disintegrated over time into a series of smaller identical triangles and emotionally relatable architecture as a frame for the penguins at the center to make them seem like the protagonist of the piece even though the true protagonist is the triangle itself, in the style of shapiro500, isometric 3d, beautiful lighting, best quality, masterpiece, hyperdetailed 4k, octane render” but I don't have Sora access so I made it by hand with Cinema 4D instead

how cash create spot ETF flows work 🧵 when an ETF starts out it has ~0 shares and all volume must be new creation when an ETF is mature it has many shares and most volume is trading among shareholders, no new creation ETF share creation happens through "authorized participants" (APs), who are basically market makers allowed to make fake shares for 1 day i buy a share, none exists, so the AP sells me a fake share and is short that fake share. then at the end of the day the AP goes to the ETF issuer and gives them cash (not btc!) in exchange for a real share. this cancels out the short fake share and AP is now positioned flat, i have the real share the issuer (not the AP!) then takes the cash and buys spot BTC. this all takes time especially with T+1/2 settlement and moving cash around so does this mean ETF inflows don't hit spot markets until cash creation? not quite. the APs are simply market makers, not taking on directional risk. if they go short a fake share at 1pm but have to deliver cash for a 4pm price, they could get carried out if price moves against them so they hedge and "lock in" the price, but hedging is capital-intensive and has additional fees and counterparty risk and adds more moving parts. in theory they could hedge with spot markets but in practice futures like BITO are more readily available through the same platforms, keep your money on the tradfi platform instead of moving to coinbase a "perfect" hedge looks like this: - retail buys 1 IBIT share at 1pm - AP sells 1 fake IBIT share to them - AP is short, buys spot BTC or BTC futures at 1pm - AP delivers cash to Blackrock at 4pm - Blackrock buys spot BTC after that but who will hedge the hedgooors? for the AP to buy BTC futures, someone must be selling the BTC futures. and to hedge themselves, they probably buy some spot BTC. round and round it goes all these moving parts are expensive and annoying and everybody wants to skim something off the top, so retail gets screwed through larger spreads. also a chance that APs / futures sellers absorb a bit of directional risk because of the complexity of perfect hedging so TLDR: most inflows do hit spot markets immediately, although not as directly as a market buy since flows through more short-term manipulable markets with some risk wiggle room like futures. my back-of-the-envelope estimate is that ~50-80% of inflows have resulted in spot market buys so far, which will even out over week or two as the arbitrageurs catch up

For anyone here who hasn’t worked in corporate strategy at a Fortune 500 company and wants to understand how utterly bone-headed decisions—such as changing your customers’ cell-phone plans unless they proactively call to opt out—get made, here’s a quick explainer 👇 This chain of events typically starts during a quarterly board of directors meeting, during which an independent director (generally a current or retired CEO of a company in a different, non-competing industry) says that the company isn’t making enough money and that it’s the fault of the CEO, who is a supremely unqualified buffoon. (Tangent: Every board director has his own pet favorite metric, be it growth (e.g., year-over-year sales), profitability (e.g., EBITDA margin), investor returns (e.g., change in share price if public, return on invested capital if private), or some byzantine metric that he used to love when he was the division president of a Ma Bell carve-out back in the 1980s (e.g., change in same-store gross profit divided by number of people on the sales team, raised to the power of pi and divided by 1998, which represents the year his current girlfriend was born). The exact metric doesn’t matter; what matters is that, by the standards thereof, the CEO sucks.) The independent director will then pull open the calculator app on his iPhone 7, punch some numbers in, and say something to the effect of, “If we can increase revenue per customer by just $5, our market cap will increase by billions. Get your strategy team to figure it out.” From here, the CEO and the CFO will then set up a meeting with the SVP of corporate strategy for 7:15 AM the next morning, to be held in the locker room of the country-club whose $20k annual membership dues the company’s shareholders generously cover. Sitting in the sauna, buck naked save for bleached white towels barely sufficient for the mission to which they’ve been called, the executives will decide that the most prudent course of action is to call McKinsey and pay them approximately $2.5M to figure this out for them. (Note: The CFO will get a quote from his buddy at Deloitte or KPMG, just to be able to tell the board that they solicited competing bids, but everyone knows that the work is just going to end up with McKinsey. Or Bain.) McKinsey will rapidly set up office in a large conference room on-site, as if it’s the makeshift command-and-control center of an air base in Kuwait on the eve of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and they’ll deploy a dozen MBAs with a weighted average age of 26.5 years across the company’s headquarters. The consultants will meticulously evaluate all levers for revenue growth, including M&A, organic growth from new customers, and organic growth from existing customers (either by reducing churn or just finding ways to get more money out of each one). M&A will quickly get crossed off the list, since McKinsey doesn’t want Goldman coming in and taking over, and new-customer growth is always just painful, so, by process of elimination, they’ll decide on getting more money from existing customers. After performing an analysis called a customer segmentation, McKinsey will realize that the company has already squeezed every last dollar possible out of the company’s highest-paying customers, whose loyalty is already pushed to the limit. They will therefore instead try to figure out how to get more money from lower-paying customers. Associate 1: How do we get more money from our cheapest customers? Associate 2: Can we go back to selling ring tones, like we did in 1998? Associate 1: I did a case study on that at HBS! Ten minutes go by. Anyway, that’s why it won’t work. What if we just… raised prices? Associate 2: These customers are highly price-sensitive. We can’t do that unless the customers think they’re getting additional value. [CONTINUED IN NEXT TWEET]
