DSA affirms our fundamental right to free speech and assembly. We will not be intimidated by the Trump administration’s cronies, and we will continue our struggle for democracy to the end. If you want to live in a free society, join DSA today: dsausa.org/join

In 1932 Brownsville Kentucky was terrorized by the "Perambulating Gorilla", an ape-like animal that would walk the streets at night. Locals said it would hide in the hills during the day and scare people at night. Any attempts to capture the animal failed

Socrates would have considered Charlie Kirk a sophist. "Western intellectual tradition," if that's even a definable thing, rests on 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 of the kind of pseudo-conversations hosted by Kirk
Charlie Kirk died with a microphone in his hand.  In his death, we sense that something basic to Western civilization—a tradition of truth-seeking through conversation—is teetering: firstthings.com/he-died-with… @firstthingsmag

Crappy post-it drawings brainstorming characters for a comic concept im thinking of making. A group of radicals discovers that a certain sound frequency liberates skeletons from human bodies, and they use it to end the longest era of exploitation in history: that of our own bones

THAT'S MY GOAT
McGill Political Science Professor, William Clare Roberts, put out a troubling tweet calling for ‘full economic and military support’ for Hamas and Hezbollah. Both groups are Canadian-designated terrorist organizations responsible for attacks on civilians. Is this how McGill wants to be represented? What do you think? not only is DSA the largest organization fighting for socialism in this country, it’s also the largest organization fighting for democracy.
It is inexcusable to overturn the DFL endorsement from Omar Fateh. A small group, a majority living outside Minneapolis, met privately to overturn the will of Minneapolis delegates who volunteered, organized, and participated in a months-long DFL process. Unacceptable.

I think of this quote from James Baldwin a lot, but instead of Dostoyevsky in my head or on my page, it's Lenin. It's not some weird coincidence that I, a Black guy in the 21st-century U.S., am struggling through the same questions of party-building and agitation as he did!
None of these guys, just Lula Xi & Mujica, guys who did it after Computer, or at the very least after my great grandparents were Sperms

I’m going to put this bluntly: after graduating, I wandered around in circles with a primordial soup of vague Marxist principles and nothing to do with them. MUG showed me how to apply them to interventions within both the party and the world at large. It changed my life.
