2022 was a rebirth, a return to life. 🧵 There was not a single day in 2021 - not one - where I could have in my wildest dreams imagined it. I think about that a lot. And I always will. ā¤ļø šŸ™Œ

This paper answers why confident idiots run the world. Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy. It’s called ā€œUnskilled and Unaware of It.ā€ they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception. And the results are wild. participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile. they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence. the paper revealed a brutal paradox: the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain. if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing. this creates a dangerous systemic loop. the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions. meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse. top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else. they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add. we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence. the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't. the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

BREAKING: House Judiciary Democrats just released a 50-page report alleging Trump was an ā€œactive participantā€ in Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s. The report, titled ā€œThe Case Against Donald Trump Emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s Desperate Efforts to Cover It Up,ā€ cites five women who accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein’s company and calls for an independent special counsel to investigate the president, co-conspirators, and what Democrats describe as the Justice Department’s cover-up under AG Todd Blanche.

Building a culture is about plays like this.
Arvell Reese: Not a traitor! Look at the effort running down the ball downfield even after missing the sack. He's an athletic specimen. This is the kind of effort and hustle Dennard Wilson expects from his players.

Two things can be true. Trump is who he is, and @billmaher, once again, had this coming. This is why you NEVER sit down with this monster in private. This is why you NEVER normalize this monster. Hey, Bill, tell me again how nice he was at dinner. And when is your next private dinner with the monster?

ā€œYeah I did it again, bitches. Fuck you, I like these dinners.ā€ @billmaher lashes out, defends himself for having dinner with Trump again. He says Trump had good etiquette, never lost his temper or yelled… How nice! Imagine being this far up your own ass.

El-Sayed: In my Neurology unit, I would have to give that MOCA exam, that cognitive test he's so proud of… The only people you give that test to are people who you worry may have cognitive deficits. By definition, if you’re taking one of those tests, something is wrong.Ā  And you know the doctor who gave it to him was like, I just want to see how smart you are, sir. And he's like, me too. He brags about having taken it. He's like I remembered the rhinoceros. You're like Habibi, everybody remember the rhinoceros. And the funny thing about it is, you know, he's taken it multiple times. So he's not even bragging about the first time he took it. He's like, I took it the 1st time and then I took it the 2nd time. So with Donald Trump, you can't blame him for this, he's just dumb. But for Mike Rogers, can you imagine how small of a human being you have to be to know that he has real deficits and to just nod your head approvingly at the most ridiculous shit that the man proposes?

This is a winless Orlando team playing on the road without their best player. And the Knicks blew a 10 point fourth quarter lead? It’s a new season. Wake up guys.
Really poor effort by the Knicks tonight. Lazy. Sloppy.

The #Giants and #Browns currently lead their divisions and are a combined 9-4-1, one year after those teams finished a combined 9-25. Their head coaches? John Harbaugh and Todd Monken, the head coach and offensive coordinator the #Ravens let go after last season.
