This legitimately made me tear up. Never gonna beat the bleeding heart lib accusations
Houston: Hundreds of Texans leaving their "I voted" stickers at the site where Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot by ICE

The number of people who did this very thing in 2018 was more than the votes than the entire turnout of the Senate race Heidi Heitkamp lost that year
This is like the craziest thing I’ve ever seen Everyone turned out to vote for Abbott but they left it blank for Paxton or voted for Talarico? That is not how most voting humans operate

I also got the furries text. lmao
friend of mine in Dallas got a political text warning of "furries" at polling places. The group, Texans for Common Sense, is linked to Texans United for a Conservative Majority PAC, which is funded in part by GOP mega donor Tim Dunn

.@tamara_talarico is the actual best
“We’re going to shock the nation and shock the world when we take back Texas,” @jamestalarico says after voting in Austin this morning. Below, this is him leaving the polling site with his mom and girlfriend.

the dude was one of the biggest donors to Paxton during the primary, *this year* 👀👀👀
I don’t put my name behind just anyone. 🇺🇸 I sat down with James Talarico and heard balanced, honest answers on security, the economy, and issues facing Texas families. That’s why I support @jamestalarico for U.S. Senate. Election Day is Nov. 3. Make your plan to vote. 🗳️

The obvious choice would be Bobby Pulido
If Talarico pulls this off, we are doing Greg Casar vs Cruz 2030 right?

After 12 years, you think you'd make enough people happy to avoid this kind of begging
.@GregAbbott_TX on @seanhannity radio show urges Republicans to get out and vote: "Whether you're happy or not, we've got to realize what's at stake here. And if anybody stays home and doesn't go vote, it's going to put Texas at risk. It's going to put the United States at risk."

They should do it even if Lt Dan wins
It's gettin' real now: Sources tell @quorumreport that the Texas Senate GOP is quietly considering stripping all legislative power from the Lt. Gov. if the Democrat beats Little Gov Patrick: bit.ly/4Bfnnvb #TxLege

Funny way to pronounce "hell no I'm not selling a state park to the world's richest man"
On if he supports selling Boca Chica State Park to SpaceX, Gov. @GregAbbott_TX punts and touts his record of adding parkland: “What I know is that that's not coming up for a vote any time soon, and I don't know what the details are” that Texas Parks and Wildlife is considering.

If only *France* had literal centuries of history to show what happens to society when radicalism runs wild. You don't get Napoleon without the Terror, y'know
Seems like all the young people I talk to tell me this is a good thing. Because this is how you get real change. I tell them that this is how you get the far-right.

The idea that Gina having a podium -- that Abbott had no intention of being at, moved down the street because the street outside the Governor's Mansion was mysteriously closed to the public that day -- is ableist ... just lol
The misogyny shown toward a candidate who came to debate proves how insincere and hypocritical Gina Hinojosa is. This morning’s circus in Austin was no sincere attempt to debate: a standing podium reachable only by stairs, purposefully designed to keep someone in a wheelchair from participating.

I mean if you didn't need another reason to vote for @GinaHinojosaTX -- pretty sure she wouldn't let Elon buy our state parkland
Replying to @Forrest4Trees
After I inquired about the meeting, a Parks and Wildlife spokesperson said the Commission "is not considering the sale of the Boca Chica property at its November meeting.” But sources say the sale has been punted till after the election.

As someone who was there for these fights, this one is a smidge off. And the idea that the *university* picked Jimmy as a member of the student government exec board (esp when the admin's preferred candidate lost in large part to Jimmy's strategy) is genuinely laughable
I've known @jamestalarico for nearly 20 years. When we were at @UTAustin in 2009, he ran the University Democrats and I ran the College Republicans. Although we disagreed, I once considered him a friend. But then he betrayed the entire student body for his own political gain.🧵
