I don't own $ASTS and not advice, but if you're capitulating just because a stock price went down.. There's little investment thesis or conviction in the first place. People always have multi-year ideas like $RKLB becoming the next $SPCX or AST becoming the next Starlink competitor. Kinda reminiscent of retail favorite names like $HOOD back in 2024, or $NBIS later in 2025... But there's always capitulation periods along the way like the time hedge funds shorted Nebius to $70 in Dec/Jan, after calling it the Neocloud winter. Or the wave of negative analyst DGs on Robinhood on the drop back to $17. Or even macro scares like April 2025. So lot of retail investors never gave their original longs time to play out. Fast forward, a lot of these popular retail names do end up cooking... so kinda sad seeing how quickly sentiment turns.
$ASTS decided to cut my losses. This stock is dropping with no bottom in sight. I got in at 88 and kept averaging down to my current average of 78, and I'm sitting on a 48% loss! This ticker is completely played out and hopeless. Good luck to anyone still holding.

Asts not PRing Friday's ANATEL spectrum decision in Brazil, whereas SpaceX did, shows they don't consider it a big deal, even though both received the exact same allocation : 15+15 MHz of S-band, 5+5 of which expire in June 2029. SpaceX, which had asked for the entire band (30+30 MHz) and ended up with half of it, clearly does. The reason is always the same : asts can rely on its MNO partners spectrum, whereas SpaceX can't. Spectrum is a headache for SpaceX but it's a commodity for asts. The same logic applies to launches, but inverted. That is why asts will PR everything related to satellite production and launches, the value of every successful BlueBird launch being orders of magnitude higher than that of a Starlink batch launch. One would say: if Asts has the spectrum and SpaceX has the launches, then since this week SpaceX has an advantage because they now have both. Sure, that's how the market saw it, or at least the part of the market that traded this news on Friday, because we all know the ones selling are not long-term investors fleeing the boat but hedge fund pod traders enjoying a highly liquid and volatile stock. Thing is, it's not that simple. First, you can increase launch cadence, but physics can't create more spectrum. Then, beyond spectrum rights, you still need authorization to build cell towers in a foreign country if you dare to offer a competitive service, meaning full coverage, including cell towers in dense urban areas where most consumers want their 5G/6G connectivity. This means Starlink and BlueBird satellites are definitively not equal : - one can process low-band and the other can't ; - one carries a 223 sq m array and flies at around 520 km, the other is much smaller, is designed for around 5 years and flies at around 360 km (330 km for the next generation), an altitude where drag is so strong that a satellite that stops thrusting reenters the atmosphere and disintegrates within months ; - one has a phased array large and powerful enough to be pitched for government applications, the other doesn't. But what matters most is this : a LEO satellite travels at roughly 27,000 km/h and circles the Earth about 15 times a day, meaning it only spends a few minutes above any given point and sweeps over dozens of countries every day. Where BlueBirds can activate service simply by signing an agreement with partners already operating with enormous terrestrial infrastructure, local regulatory authorization from sovereign telcos, and established client bases, Starlink Mobile would need SpaceX to rebuild all of that from scratch. That will take YEARS if not DECADES, because having a large constellation is an engineering feat, but having the rights and infrastructure to monetize it everywhere on Earth depends on the goodwill of each sovereign country, and no government will easily hand a foreign company access to its citizens' communications. This week's clash between Musk and Indian authorities illustrates this perfectly. —— TL;DR : $ASTS sentiment has capitulated, but the thesis remains unchanged.

RT @AbelAvellan: American operators hold ~1,000 MHz of low and mid band spectrum, tunable on the @AST_SpaceMobile network. With our curren…
To those that are new to story or to those that are here for a cup of coffee, let me tell you what drew many of us to the $ASTS investment in the first place: They could lease the MNOs spectrum and didn’t need their own. But what about the Ligado transaction? That, in my opinion, was akin to a palace coup. They found a distressed asset that they could monetize when no one else could monetize. They turned water into wine. Ligado is the exception, not the rule. Let $Spcx buy some low band. Let them build towers. Let them sink billions upon billions of dollars (maybe hundreds of billions of dollars) into a low margin, capital intensive business. They may even win some customers over from the MNOs. Meanwhile, $ASTS will be the silent partner to ALL the MNOs. It’ll gain access to all their customers. It’ll utilize their spectrum. It’ll have the MNOs handle billing and all those horrible operational expenditures that cripple growing companies. It WILL print money. Criticize AST for its slow manufacturing cadence. I’m with you on that. But dooming over a tiny slice of spectrum that was never part of the business plan in the first place? Child please.

$ASTS just picked up a huge geopolitical endorsement as the U.S. and Japan specifically named AST and Rakuten in their Technology Prosperity Deal. Japan wants sovereign D2C coverage while U.S. wants trusted American infrastructure across allied networks putting AST directly where both priorities meet.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

BlueBirds 8, 9, and 10 are now fully deployed to their full size, each the world's largest communications arrays operating in Low Earth Orbit. We invented a new way to design, manufacture at scale, deploy, and fly lightweight composite stackable architecture combined, with the world's largest and most advanced direct- to-device and radar phased-array with the ability to launch them in groups of 3, 5, 6, or 8 on a single launch. Our BlueBird platform brings together high-performance space-based cellular broadband with peak data rates approaching 200 Mbps, space AI edge computing, and many mission-critical government applications, all on one platform where the largest-ever size matters! BlueBirds 11, 12 and 13 are already at the Cape preparing for their imminent launch. BlueBirds 14, 15 and 16 are right behind them. Production has already moved through satellite 42. All of this is happening in Texas. 🤠🇺🇸📶🌎📱
