“Any form, or any degree of this error of the duty of the State to promote religion must inevitably work out the slavery of the church and the corruption of the faith. The magistrate's power is simply and purely a power of the sword, a government of compulsion. Whatever it is the duty of the magistrate to do, he is bound to compel to be done. IF he is bound to promote true religion, he is bound to compel men to believe the true and reject the false, for he has not argument but force to wield. Thus the church is filled with hypocrites, and the life of the believer even is not voluntary self-consecration, but a constrained obedience, and all spiritual religion is at an end. So on the other hand the power of the church is simply moral, not coercive, and cannot be used as an adjunct of the power of the sword.”

63. Do our good works merit nothing, even though it is God’s will to reward them in this life and in that which is to come?
The reward comes not of merit, but of grace.
64. But does not this doctrine make men careless and profane?
No, for it is impossible that those who are implanted into Christ by true faith, should not bring forth fruits of thankfulness.

Taco Bell's seasoned beef has cellulose, oats and cocoa in the seasoning.
The ingredient statement on Taco Bell's site reads beef, water, seasoning, salt and sodium phosphates. The seasoning is a bracket of 18 ingredients, and the first one is cellulose, then chili pepper, maltodextrin, salt and oats. Further down are torula yeast, cocoa, and disodium inosinate and guanylate.
Cellulose is plant fiber, used in seasonings to hold water and keep them from caking. Taco Bell's FAQ says the beef is 100% USDA premium beef, pre-seasoned and "packaged with added water to lock in the flavor and for added moisture." In 2014 the company explained the rest on its website. It said oats and sodium phosphates help get the texture right, and that the cocoa doesn't add flavor and helps the beef keep a rich color.

1000 Amens.
Growing up in Southern California, I was always excited when the ocean temps would touch 70º in summer. The Torrey Pines buoy just hit 77º.
On November 1st.
This is incredible.
Normal temps are mid-to-low 60s.
I've never seen anything even remotely like this.

In this blog post, I explain question 95 of the Westminster Shorter Catechism, which is about how baptism is to administered to those who profess their faith in Christ and obedience to him, and to their children.
I look forward to Lutherans calling themselves "Reformed Lutherans" and then the Reformed Baptists calling the Lutherans not "Truly Reformed"
By 1700, covenant theology was taught at every major Lutheran university in Germany. Professors at Jena, Tübingen, Halle, Rostock, Wittenberg, and Helmstedt produced works on the subject. This means that covenant theology was taught widely across divides on other issues, by both the orthodox and pietists.
