Among the many things Grandma Kitty shared with Steph Curry tonight after the game at Barclays, one of my faves is a Mother’s Day card she received from her family. It read: “Happy Mother’s Day mom. Thank you for teaching us to love God, each other, and Steph Curry.” Enjoy!

I still cannot believe this is a true story. People are really so evil.

A United Airlines flight carrying 150 passengers returned to Las Vegas late Saturday night after something a flight attendant spotted on a passenger’s phone prompted the pilots to lock down the cockpit. The plane landed safely, with law enforcement requested at the gate. The FAA says it is investigating the incident. cbsnews.com/newyork/video/un…

A critical Game 5 awaits at Ballhalla!

Well Joe didn’t bail them out a first time but whatever story you want to tell yourself. The precedent he set was expressing the importance of the game being played at an arena comparable to Chase. I don’t think that sentiment has changed for him.
That sounds like an Atlanta problem of incompetence, and not for Joe to keep bailing them out.

Begs the question why it wasn’t just moved when they rescheduled 3 & 4. Was everyone confident the series would end in 5 lol Or they were fine playing at Gateway for Game 6. And if that’s the case just play at Gateway. The decision not to address Game 6 at the time is odd.
Replying to @ramonashelburne
I’ve heard from several NBA executives about this situation today. The general sentiment is that NBA games can be moved, but it’s extremely difficult two days in advance. There’s employees to schedule, tickets to sell, travel and player health to consider. A few weeks ago, it would have been a lot easier to move a game to Cleveland or from Thursday to Friday (creating back-to-backs for both teams). But last minute is very challenging.

The Valkyries were still being asked to do something last time and had to agree to it. They had to play a day earlier and had to play earlier in the day on Saturday. Each stakeholder was impacted.

It's a whole different conversation when it's now the Valkyries being asked to reschedule their own home game. Game 7 on the weekend versus Game 7 on election day midweek is not a minor change.

It wasn’t just about fans. It was about women’s basketball and the optics. And those same issues exist now. I’m not sure how this would be squandering anything for Ballhalla. They’re not losing Ballhalla as an option lol
Joe Lacob statement was about fan's and they do deserve better, but Valkyries should not squander the momentum of Ballhalla. People have to make plans, free up schedules and put things in place to be available.

No one said it is his responsibility. But when he’s on record saying how important it is, I’m explaining why he may be open to more compromise. I didn’t say they would be. I explained why they might again.
lacob lended his hand the first time, the atlanta dream are not his responsibility. we should not be doing anything to make the dream comfortable. their arena is what it is so they need to play there.

There is no perfect solution to the Game 6 conundrum. But the fact that a decision has not been made by now makes everything infinitely worse, I fear. Everyone will adjust to whatever decision is made and make the best of it. Just make it.

Pretty sure I simply discussed pros and cons of a proposed solution and didn’t ask the org to do anything just explained what it would entail. Also it’s Golden State’s owner who went on record about the importance of not playing the Finals at Gateway.
Again, why are media people being so weird about this and asking the Golden State org to compromise because of Atlanta’s incompetence?????

Having just done this in ATL and being there for it, this would require the Warriors pushing their game back several hours (on a Sunday) to do this whereas the Hawks only had to push back 30 min. They’d only have 1 night off btwn cities with an early tip for a potential Game 7.
is there a reason the Valkryies can't host a WNBA/NBA double-header on Sunday for a potential Game 7?

Another factor involves an MLB team: the Brewers! If Cavs are forced to play back to back Friday in Atlanta and Saturday in Milwaukee, the Bucks may want to move up start time if there’s a World Series Game 7 to avoid conflict with Brewers. Unfair to Cavs if played night before.

Sources: best option for WNBA Game 6 is for Hawks to move Thursday’s Cavs matchup at State Farm Arena to Friday. It means W gets the arena Thursday night and Hawks play a back to back Saturday game in New Orleans and Cavs a back to back Saturday game in Milwaukee. Decision soon.

I’m not personally invested in this outcome. I’m simply pointed out that moving the game does have some potential benefits for the Valks and explained a reason why they might agree b/c their owner went on record about the need for the games to be moved from Gateway.

Then dream can play in a bigger arena that’s available without shifting the schedule. Why are we being asked to make concessions? Let them compromise.

Pretty sure it’s not the players fault in any capacity lol

The dream suck after extra days. They better play at gateway and enjoy it. Its their fault for not finishing in 5. Let the season ticket holders get all the 3500

The NBA just opened the season with daytime games. I was wondering if this was something that might be considered.
The two leading options of the not so great options are a matinee at State Farm Arena for Game 6 on Thursday in Atlanta or shifting Game 6 to Friday and Game 7 to Tuesday. Thus far the league doesn’t love the idea of a weekday matinee for a Finals game. Others don’t love the idea of 3 days between Games 5/6 AND 6/7.
