Since everyone is so concerned about Chainlink's fees - lets see where fees accrue in this example DTCC workflow -
> ethereum (but could be any chain) - whatever current gas fee is to lock token on mainnet (1 gwei is currently $.004 and scheduled to go lower)
> DTCC Besu Based AppChain - ZERO gas fees
> Chainlink - $.14 $LINK orchestration fee
Replicated across txs that exceed $20T daily.
There are a thousand public chains
There are hundreds of private chains
All locked in a gas race to zero
Abstracted and Orchestrated with the all the real-world's offchain systems and data by Chainlink.
There is only one $LINK.
the token not needed meme is low IQ bait. The worlds institutions are not hoarding gas tokens just to use public blockchain. Chainlink nodes do not accept anything execpt $LINK for providing Chainlink services. All Chainlink workflows settle in $LINK.
Overcollateralization has to do with the terms of the lending agreement between counterparties - it has nothing to do with Chainlink. Moving value is just one step in orchestrating the Collateral Management process.

"If an AI buys me a $450 shoe, I'm shutting that shit down that day..."
Chainlink co-founder on making sure finance AIs don't misbehave:
"What you really need is a global registry with a public key, that is attached to every AI agent, and a file that says what this agent is allowed to do… the user of the agent will be able to say, 'my agent is allowed to transact up to $100,000 on Mastercard's Agent Pay system'. And if it asks to transact a million dollars, A, tell it no... B, contact me!"
"You need a global registry of what agents are allowed and not allowed to do."
"But the problem with building any global registry is you have to get everyone reading and writing to it. vLEI has an interesting solution to this that they recently released a report on. We work very closely with the LEI, the Legal Entity Identifier. We have systems that integrate with their systems. We have systems that integrate with various AI platforms and digital assets."

I shared this privately in a $LINK chat but since its both Sibos month and #Samtember - what the heck.
Stinky.
The DTCC's AppChain is built on Hyperledger Besu. No token needed.
Swift's Ledger is built on Hyperledger Besu. No token needed.
They are both powered by the Chainlink Runtime Environment and data standards.
$LINK token needed.
the canvas maker does not get a say in what the painter paints.
Is this really where ethereum $eth is in 2026? Trying to tell painters what they can paint and on whoms canvas?
You guys lost the plot.

I do not hate ethereum. I just wish its community would stop being such naive hypocritical wannabe-anarchists that think ethereum built the economy that runs on top of its decentralized database - instead of Chainlink and DeFI.
There is nothing sadder than a database devoid of data.

this is like when the dairy industry sued almond milk makers because their juice comes from a cow instead of a nut. lets just rename private blockchain to private blockdatabase to make the $eth utopians happy so we can get back to changing how the world works.

you ever ask a friend to help you move and they show up in @chrisbarrett's @drivewithchip instead of their truck?
Thats ethereum $eth pulling up thinking it will be the global settlement layer in 2026. Its not ready for institutional use at scale. Its just reality. I know people have a hard time with that here.
You need a monster if youre going to take on the real world. not a unicorn.
Did you hear the one about the "build it and they will come people" asking the government for a regulatory hand out because people are choosing to go elsewhere?

and the other obvious thing - is that onchain stamps of tokenized stock do not offer shareholder rights. whoever is custodying those stocks could control the governance of those shares. this is where DTCC's Tokenization Service and Collateral AppChain, Chainlink and ERC-3643 come into play - bringing real-time corporate actions and governance onchain - so holders of tokenized stocks retain their governance rights.

NEW: Chainlink unlocks automated corporate actions for tokenized equities using Swift messaging & Chainlink infra.
For the 2026 @swiftcommunity Hackathon Business Challenge, we built a solution that automates a cash dividend across four blockchains with zero manual intervention:
→ CRE orchestrates the workflow & builds one ownership record across every chain
→ CCIP delivers stablecoins or tokenized deposits across chains
→ ACE checks each wallet for identity, sanctions, tax, and eligibility rules
→ Data Feeds provide the data needed to adjust the reference price at ex-dividend
Thank you to Swift for organizing this year’s Business Challenge and naming Chainlink’s solution the runner-up. We look forward to continuing to build on our joint work with the Swift community.

could you imagine if Linux enthusiasts petitioned the government to create a regulatory moat because they didnt like the way Apple was using "their" open-source permissionless technology - the way $eth utopians are?
Guys. Mixing religion and technology never turns out well. Just go out and build better systems. No one is stopping you.
Swell just exposed a vulnerability that institutional DeFi cannot afford to inherit
Its staking tokens began reporting inflated exchange rates, forcing withdrawals to be frozen
Imagine those valuations being accepted as collateral across interconnected lending markets. Artificial value becomes real debt
This is why Chainlink’s independent data verification and automated risk controls matter
As trillions in assets move onchain, the ability to verify collateral integrity will become fundamental to financial stability
Swell Pauses swETH and rswETH Deposits and Withdrawals Amid Abnormally High Contract Exchange Rates
According to Unchained, Ethereum staking protocol Swell has paused deposits and withdrawals for swETH and rswETH until it corrects the net asset values (NAV) and exchange rates of both tokens. Data shows that the swETH and rswETH contracts reported exchange rates of approximately 1.203 ETH and 1.138 ETH, respectively, about 6% and 5% higher than normal levels.
On-chain analyst Spreek suspected a compromise of the relevant token admin keys and identified a malicious upgrade contract that could potentially impact around 2,500 ETH, though the upgrade has not yet been executed. Swell stated that no ETH has been transferred out of the affected contracts and that the exact cause remains under investigation.
.@malekanoms asking the government for a regulatory handout to protect the sanctity of anarchists that believe all the worlds problems can be solved by a decentralized database. lol.
The SEC's tokenization exemption has a big open question: what counts as a "public, permissionless" blockchain? 🤔
The first 3 tokenized stock venues:
TSV LLC on @CantonNetwork
OKXICE on its own @Ethereum L2
Kephas Corp. on its own @Ethereum L2
Who wants what:
@SolanaInstitute , @malekanoms and @lex_node want it tighter
@hedera wants it wider
@SIFMA wants clarity
@BetterMarkets wants it scrapped
Meanwhile, 22 of 62 companies have objected to having their shares tokenized on OKXICE.

Did i hear something about ethereum replacing all the worlds institutions?
And did i hear something about glamsterdam being delayed?
Ive got news for you. Institutions arent waiting for you anymore. Proof over Promises.

Isn’t it funny that those who benefited from regulatory uncertainty and complained about being shut out are now asking regulators to shut out competition? Am I the only one finding that odd?

Wall Street and DeFi is converging
The DTCC brings legal certainty and institutional trust behind traditional securities
Hyperledger Besu, Ethereum and other blockchain networks bring global liquidity and open financial markets
Chainlink connects everything and orchestrates the work
This is how trillions in traditional financial assets begin entering the onchain economy

How DTCC’s app chain opens up to Ethereum
Sergey Nazarov explains Chainlink’s work with DTCC. A private, regulated environment carrying DTCC’s legal standing on one side, Ethereum’s liquidity and user base on the other, and CCIP connecting.

New docs for the Chainlink Platform 👀
Every organisation now gets Billing, Payments and Limits controls. CRE has its own Limits.
Now connect that to what we already know:
• Every CRE workflow run is metered for compute time.
• Usage is counted in credits priced in USD.
• A recent GitHub pull request calls these usage reports "billing receipts".
• The Fulcrum x DTCC demo shows a 0.01 LINK orchestration fee.
• Chainlink Functions, which has been upgraded to CRE, prices in USD and charges in LINK.
• The Chainlink Reserve converts revenue, including off-chain payments, into LINK, which can clearly include Credits bought offchain with dollars.
Connecting the dots . . .

DeFI was Chainlink's battle testing grounds.
ethereum was Chainlink's loss leader.
Institutions have been building for the past decade. And they built their systems according to their - and their counterparties and clients - exact requirements for how they would securely implement private and public chains into their existing systems and workflows.
Orchestrated by the Chainlink Runtime Environment.

This is so frustrating. I keep trying to engage with established commentators making bold statements on twitter about how "Swift didnt think about the liquidity problem" or "DTCC doesnt know what theyre doing because Canton is ONE of the chains they will issue assets on" but all i get - if im lucky to get a reply at all - is condescension.
Everyone has a hot take. And most have spent the past 10 years laughing at insitutions first attempts at enterprise blockchain instead of watching what theyre doing next.
Next is going live now. Regardless of what anyone has to say. They should have been part of the TradFI conversations - instead of hanging at the cool kid blockchain conferences.

"If you think about transferring value, token-based payments will essentially eliminate the need for collateral in, say, nostro/vostro accounts that we see in correspondent banking." - @AtlantaFed FMC 2023
Anyone conflating tokenization and stablecoins with bridge currencies and nostro/vostro accounts either doesn't understand what theyre talking about or has ulterior motives to spread misinformation.
This isn't about the payment rail. This is about the Unified Golden Record.
