The documentary film, Healing Humanity, is out now! As one of its executive producers, I'm honored to have played a small role in bringing this project to the world. This big-hearted independent film was made on a shoe-string and was a true labor of love for Kerry Mann and everyone else involved.
Five years ago, when our family first learned about ketogenic therapy for mental health, there was almost nothing out there to point people toward. No press coverage. No films. No clinical trials in the scientific literature. Just a handful of individuals and clinicians who were seeing how a specific change in nutrition and metabolism could lead to healing the body and mind.
That’s a big part of why I said yes to this film.
Healing Humanity began with Kerry Mann Jr., a homesteader suffering from deep depression, who was 100 pounds overweight and was told his congestive heart failure and arthritis were permanent. When Kerry adopted a what he refers to as a proper human diet, he reclaimed his mental and physical health.
Then he and his co-director Adam Lacy, who has his own long recovery story from traumatic brain injury, spent three years driving around the country with a camera asking one question: who else has a similar story?
The answer turned out to be a lot of people. The film weaves together roughly 60 interviews with physicians, researchers, and ordinary people who got their lives back by returning to a proper human diet. Type 2 diabetes. Depression and anxiety. Autoimmune disease. Chronic pain. Women’s health. Aging. Among the clinicians who sat down with Kerry are @GeorgiaEdeMD, @KenDBerryMD, @SBakerMD, @ifixhearts and @thomasseyfried, and they don’t hold back.
What I love most about this film is that it isn’t a lecture. It’s people telling you, in their own words, what it felt like to be told “there’s nothing more we can do,” and what it felt like to find out that wasn’t true--exactly the journey our son @matthewbaszucki travelled.
This is the same conversation we’ve been having for years: that what we eat shapes our metabolism, that our metabolism shapes our brains, and that millions of people living with chronic physical and mental illness have never once been told that food might be part of the answer. The science is still catching up to the stories. But the stories are real, and they deserve to be heard.
Kerry and Adam made this film independently, funded by thousands of small donors, and they’ve set it up so every dollar from purchases goes first toward giving the film away free to people who can’t afford it. That tells you everything about who they are.
Watch it tonight. Then watch it again with a parent, a sibling, or a friend who has been told their diagnosis is forever. Gift it to someone who needs to know that healing is possible.

Older adults with a higher VO₂ max have a slower pace of biological aging.
A cutoff of ~26 ml/kg/min distinguished “slower” vs. “faster” agers (keep in mind these were adults aged 65–72).

Rapeseed oil ran naval engines because nothing else clung to hot metal under steam. Now: essential fatty acid. Eat up.
Linseed oil hardens timber and sets a bin of rags alight on its own. Now: flaxseed capsules, £14, take one with breakfast.
Cottonseed oil was fibre waste carrying a compound that sterilised the men who cooked with it. Now: refined, in your shortening, delicious.
Soybean oil is the leading feedstock for American biodiesel. Now: 7 per cent of American calories. Fill her up.
Corn oil is a leftover from milling starch and syrup. Now: recommended for your cholesterol by a cardiologist.
Rice bran oil is what falls off the grain on the way to being white. Now: eleven quid, small bottle, artisan.
Grapeseed oil is what the wine trade could not shift. Now: a premium product, and you are lucky to have it.
Castor oil greases racing engines. Tung oil waterproofs boat decks. Both pressed from a seed. Both natural. Neither one anywhere near your dinner, for reasons nobody has ever been asked to explain.
Same crops. Same presses. Same solvent. Same refinery. Same tanker leaving the same gate.
But do trust the experts on this one.
Just don't ask them where it came from, what it was for, who had it first, or what happened to the last one they swore by.

🚨ANNOUNCEMENT🚨
👉The Problem: Mental health has to stop being a game of trial and error.
Today, too many people spend months—or even years—cycling through medications and therapies, hoping something works.
We can do better.
👉The Premise: The brain is a metabolic organ, and mental health is an emergent property of brain metabolism.
That’s why we’re building @neurovitals: the first AI-native, scalable mental health support platform that puts metabolic health at the center.
I’m Cheif Scientific Officer and you can follow CEO @WilliamFurness for further updates (see quoted tweet)
👉Vision: Our vision is ambitious, but we believe it’s achievable.
Imagine combining your metabolic health data with AI to identify patterns and translate them into personalized, actionable recommendations designed to improve mental well-being through a metabolism-first approach.
But what excites me most isn’t just the coaching.
It’s the flywheel.
Every participant who chooses to contribute their data helps the system learn.
Over time, the AI becomes better at identifying the metabolic patterns associated with depression, anxiety, resilience, focus, and overall mental health.
Every contribution makes the platform smarter—not just for you, but for everyone who comes after you.
👉The Hope: genuinely believe we’re at the beginning of a new era in mental health—one that’s more personalized, more data-driven, and rooted in biology rather than guesswork.
👉The Ask: We’re now looking for our first 100 beta testers. (See attached thread🧵)
It’s early, and we’ll be building this alongside our community.
If that sounds exciting to you, we’d love to have you join us.
And if you know someone who would find this interesting, a repost or share would means lot at this early stage.
A few months ago, @neurovitals was an idea on a whiteboard.
Today we're officially accepting our first customers.
The thesis, the sprint, and how to claim one of our first 100 spots 🧵

A criticism we hear a lot is that metabolic therapy is just too expensive. Let’s talk about that.
I’ve shared a lot about how metabolic therapies helped treat my schizoaffective disorder. But what that really meant was finally being able to inhabit my life fully again. I got my capacity back.
While the lifestyle itself isn’t inherently expensive, accessing the specialized guidance to do it safely is out of reach for many. I was incredibly lucky to work with @KetoCounselor.
Now, Nicole’s nonprofit, Brain Fog Recovery Source (@BFRS501c3), is stepping in to close the financial gap for others. Since 2022, they’ve awarded 213 scholarships to help people access this exact same specialized care.
Throughout July, they are running a matching campaign generously backed by @BaszuckiGroup. Because of their match, every single dollar you give is doubled, opening the door for someone who desperately needs this care but couldn’t afford it otherwise.
If you have the means, please consider supporting this incredible initiative. Head to the link in my bio to double your impact today!

I did not take a single drug to reverse my metabolic health.
No statins. No GLP-1 injections. No blood pressure medication. Nothing.
I changed 10 things. One at a time. Over six years.
My metabolic age went from 52 to 43. Body fat dropped to 12%. Fasting insulin sits at 4. hs-CRP under 1. Triglyceride to HDL ratio under 1.
Zero pharmaceutical drugs.
This is the list. All 10. In order.
You do not need to do them all on Monday. Pick one. Do it for two weeks. Then add the next.
Small changes compound. There is no pill that replaces this list.
This is how you unplug.
