The AI Revolution in Cancer: Grab your musket & don't wait for a silver bullet. Ask any AI frontier lab leader what AI will do for humanity and "cure cancer" tops every list. The image is always the same: miracle drugs. That's not how it's actually playing out. ...

Congrats @kevinweil, @dpatil and the @warpsciences team! Every AI-for-science bet eventually hits the same wall: going from moving bits to moving atoms. Cutting the latency of that atom-moving loop - automated labs that learn from every run - changes the economics of entire industries. And building this in the US matters for national security as much as for the people developing new medicines. Can’t imagine a better crew to make this happen 🦾
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster. We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America. I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.

The cancer center of the future will be virtual first From Google to cancer care, Othman Laraki (@othman), Co-Founder and CEO of Color Health (@color), is rethinking how patients access cancer expertise. In an interview with OncoDaily, he discusses virtual-first cancer care, AI-supported clinical services, earlier diagnosis, and the need to close the gap between scientific advances and everyday practice. His vision: making access to high-quality cancer care less dependent on geography. Read the full interview by Dr Gevorg Tamamyan (@GevTamamyan) in the October issue of OncoDaily Magazine: oncodaily.com/magazine/cance…

I don't think people realize how bad this is. Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death in Americans under 50. In adults 65 and older, incidence is falling 2.5% a year. In adults 20 to 49, it's rising 3% a year. What's causing this?

Interviewer: If free will is overrated, what's the point of living? Since everything is effectively laid out before you go through it. Jürgen: Well, they made a movie about that, and it's called Free Willy. Interviewer: About the whale? Jürgen: Yeah. Interviewer: Wait, so, sorry, can you, how does that connect to the question? Jürgen: It doesn't connect at all. It was just something that I made up.

A Nature Medicine study found general-purpose LLMs are now outperforming dedicated medical AI products on physician-reviewed clinical tasks. The authors compared OpenEvidence and UpToDate Expert AI with GPT-5.2, Gemini 3.1 Pro, and Claude Opus 4.6 on medical exam questions, clinician-style answers, and real questions doctors asked during care. In 100 de-identified physician questions from live clinical use, blinded clinicians again preferred the frontier models, especially on completeness and clarity,

Nearly 90% of large employers now cite cancer as one of their top three cost drivers. In a new Nasdaq.com op ed, PICI CEO @DrKarenKnudsen and @Color CEO @othman discuss what they call“the triple wave” driving this trend: rising cancer diagnoses among younger populations, increased complex and costly treatments, and a growing survivor workforce requiring long-term treatment. In the piece, they outline steps employers can take to move from reactive management to proactive cancer care strategies. Read the full piece here: nasdaq.com/articles/how-canc…
