When it comes the Trump administration’s cuts to global aid, there are few places where the consequences are more apparent than South Sudan. With a raging civil war in Sudan to its north, South Sudan is contending not just with its own underserved people, but with more than a million Sudanese refugees. Special correspondent Anna Conkling of Noosphere (@noosphereapp) reports on how these factors are affecting the country's healthcare system.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩'𝐬 𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐬 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝🚨 ICE officers assault a child trying to video their violent apprehension of his father. They attack this mere child who is just trying to get his father's phone & his little brother, a little toddler. Trump doesn't get that the revulsion against ICE led to the massive defeat of his party. He just replaced Chief of Staff Susie Wiles with Stephen Miller, the architect of #ICE cruelty & torture.

French Presidential Candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon: "We will act directly to come to the aid of the Palestinians, against the genocide in Gaza and the annexation of the West Bank. French ships will escort the flotillas of citizens mobilized to defend Palestinian rights. We do not accept the annexation of the West Bank, southern Lebanon, or the Golan Heights. We will organize mobilization against the atrocities targeting Christian communities under siege in Palestine and Lebanon." No equivocation. No "both sides." No focus-grouped cowardice. Just a politician with a spine. Rare and appreciated

Republicans’ key line of attack against Democrat Abdul El-Sayed was anti-Muslim rhetoric. “You chose hate, and Michigan chose hope,” El-Sayed said to his opponent Mike Rogers after winning Michigan’s Senate seat, telling him to “enjoy your retirement.” wapo.st/3WU9liZ

Benjamin Moser, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, challenges mainstream Zionist narratives. He links the movement to empire, racism, and sectarian division, arguing it was “a terrible idea” from the start and that “Israel is not something with problems. It is a problem.” He highlights early Zionist attitudes toward Jewish identity, including Herzl’s 1897 “Mauschel” essay (using antisemitic tropes against Jewish anti-Zionists) and Arthur Schnitzler’s line that the only true antisemite he’d met was Theodor Herzl. The book also profiles figures like British Cabinet minister Edwin Montagu, a Jewish opponent of the Balfour Declaration who warned it would fuel antisemitism by implying dual loyalty and serve British imperial interests in Palestine. It examines Jabotinsky’s 1923 “Iron Wall” theory, which argued that voluntary agreement with Palestine’s native population was impossible and that Zionist colonisation could only proceed under the protection of overwhelming military force (“an iron wall which the native population cannot breach”) until Arabs lost hope of resistance. Raised liberal Zionist, he shifted after visiting the West Bank and researching Jewish anti-Zionist history. #Zionism #JewishHistory #History #Politics #BalfourDeclaration #IronWall

¡Recemos! P. Luis Montes, IVE 7.11.2026
