if you are at all able (or able to learn), i highly recommend: • creating your own website • on your own domain • acquiring copies of your data that you care about that's on third party sites (particularly this one)

Together with @ProtonPrivacy, @Mozilla and others, we've signed a letter urging Congress to act now on the American Innovation and Choice Online Act and prevent massive tech platforms from gatekeeping consumer choice.

That so many Baptists today are denouncing religious Liberty is something I can’t get my head around. In fact, I’m not sure they should call themselves Baptist.
OTD in 1651 Obadiah Holmes, a baptist arrested for preaching outside of the state churches in Massachusetts, is given 30 lashes for his preaching. He told the magistrates that they “beat him as with roses.”

Imagine that the local firefighters worked at 100% capacity. You wouldn't be vary happy when your house caught fire. "We'll put you on the backlog. Don't worry, we will get around to you, eventually." Works no better for software dev.

I think Christianity should sit out the Culture Wars. It's really OK if we lose and let someone else win. We gotta ton of really important Jesus stuff to do that has nothing to do with triumphing, ruling, or governing.

The greatest threat to Christianity is not secularity. It is certainty. When you are so convinced that you are right, then you will create all types of enemies and cut yourself off from all the ways God is active in another person's experience.

If a senior dev feels like they have to do this, your team/org need work.
Gas is over $5 a gallon right now. The last time a barrel of crude oil cost this much was in July 2014. At that point a gallon of gas only cost about $3.54. Let’s be clear: Oil companies don’t need to be charging this much for gas. They’re just doing it to make excess profits.

Our #standwithsurvivors booth at the #SBCPC #SBC22 started with a simple promise to Debbie Vasquez to give her an opportunity to speak directly to messengers. Stop by the booth today to meet her, listen to her story, & hear her passion to see us act to address abuse. @SBCvoices

Dear Wormwood, If your patient can’t be kept out of the church, he ought at least to be violently attached to some party within it. All extremes except extreme devotion to the Enemy are to be encouraged. Your uncle, Screwtape — 𝘚𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, pp. 34, 84

Hey everybody at #SBC22. Please be at the convention hall as early as possible tomorrow morning. I am told of the possibility there might be some shenanigans afoot. Be in the room before 8:15 if you can make it.
