Tomorrow I liquidate my entire $ASTS position (what’s left). Put half in $RKLB and half in $SPCX. Then let it cook for twenty years. @scottwisniews @AbelAvellan

$ASTS just announced that Europe’s four largest mobile carriers including Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone are exploring a joint satellite spectrum bid to support direct to phone connectivity across more than 500M subscribers.
What makes this really interesting is AST already has European ground infrastructure in place while dedicated satellite spectrum could allow its BlueBird network to deliver more capacity without relying entirely on the carriers existing cellular frequencies.
And I think this reinforces why the carriers want AST to succeed because they can expand coverage while keeping control of their customers and data rather than becoming dependent on $SPCX Starlink.
I've been adding to my $ASTS position during this drawdown because rising yields don't change how early we are in building a much larger space economy where satellites become another layer of global telecom infrastructure.
AST already has carrier partnerships giving it access to ~3B potential subscribers and those carriers have every reason to support an alternative to Starlink rather than depend entirely on $SPCX for direct-to-phone connectivity.
The biggest challenge now is scaling to ~45 satellites and turning those partnerships into paying users but with the stock already in a ~70% drawdown I do think a lot of that production and launch risk is being reflected in valuation.

Let me clarify why I changed my position on AST SpaceMobile.
It started when the DT Telecom CEO publicly called on MNO CEOs to block SpaceX from securing MVNO deals.
I've been calling for the @FCC @BrendanCarrFCC and @JusticeATR to step in and establish regulatory protections to ensure fair competition for MVNOs for some time now and that simply hasn't
I believe the logical next move for MNOs is to build or acquire a credible alternative to SpaceX to put investor's fears aside and to stop the volatility in there Share price every time spaceX hints at them building a mobile network😀
And that's where for me AST comes in.
I could be wrong, but I believe the MNOs will ultimately look to secure AST, either through the joint venture they announced, a strategic acquisition, by a form of global consortium why because thats what I would do.
the last thing the world's largest mobile operators should want is to become dependent on a single satellite provider that could ultimately become their biggest competitor.
To be clear I haven't changed my view on AST's technology or its going it alone chances of success I still consider huge challenges for them. I've changed my view on its strategic value.
And sometimes strategic value is worth a hell of a lot more than the business itself.
Now this is not investment advice just my personal veiw.

$ASTS: 🚨SATELLITE CONNECT EUROPE FILES FOR 344 SATELLITE CONSTELLATION THROUGH GERMANY AT THE ITU ON 9/24
Vodafone and AST’s European JV filed the D-BLUEBIRD constellation through Germany at the ITU: 344 satellites across six orbital shells, covering Europe’s 2 GHz MSS spectrum as well as 700–900 MHz and 2.5 GHz terrestrial mobile bands.
Sovereignty. Satellite Connect Europe now has a concrete, Germany-sponsored regulatory architecture designed to work with European MNO spectrum, compete for dedicated 2 GHz MSS spectrum and support a network built, controlled and operated in Europe.

Are $MRLN insiders dumping shares?
No evidence of that so far.
You would know within 2 days (filing).
So what’s happening today?
Simple: the lock-up expired.
A huge block of shares that couldn’t be sold yesterday can now hit the market.
And here’s the part people are missing:
Most of these holders aren’t management waking up and suddenly deciding the company is doomed.
They’re early investors, venture funds and the SPAC sponsor.
For some of them, their cost basis is FAR below today’s ~$2.24.
Think about it like this:
You give someone $1,000 years ago.
Today, that investment can be worth $10,000.
You don’t necessarily care whether it might eventually be worth $20,000.
You’re a fund.
You have LPs.
You recycle capital.
You lock in returns.
You move on.
That selling has absolutely nothing to do with whether Merlin’s technology works or whether the company’s long-term thesis changed overnight.
It’s simply liquidity meeting an unlock.
And when a relatively illiquid stock suddenly gets a massive new pool of sellable shares…
Price does what price does.
The names covered by the Merlin lock-up include:
• First Round Capital
• Quiet Venture / Quiet Capital
• Bling Capital
• SnowPoint Ventures
• WTI / Venture Lending & Leasing
• Floodgate
• Harpoon Ventures
• BoxGroup
• Ahoy Capital
• MFCIF
• Emerald Bay Ventures
• Mark IV Capital
• Schox Venture Capital
• SV Angel
• Stanford / DAPER
• The Schiehallion Fund / Baillie Gifford
• Boom Capital
• Shrug Capital
Plus Bleichroeder Sponsor 1, whose 8.33M founder shares were subject to a separate six-month lock-up.
That’s the setup.
Unlock ≠ insider dumping.
Sometimes selling pressure is just selling pressure.
And eventually, the forced/liquidity sellers run out of shares.
