NIRA, @GCICUganda explore collaboration to bring civil registration services closer to Ugandans.
This morning, our team, led by Commissioner for Civil Registration, @vincentkatutsi, paid a courtesy call on the Director of the Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC), Mrs @MKarekye and her team.
The engagement provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual collaboration in promoting civil registration services, including birth, death, adoption and marriage registration.
By leveraging GCIC’s citizen engagement platforms and NIRA’s civil registration mandate, the two institutions seek to strengthen public awareness, improve access to reliable information and encourage more Ugandans to register vital life events.

My phone said "Storage Full" for the third time this week.
I almost deleted 200 photos of my dog.
Then my friend (an ex-Apple employee) grabbed my phone and laughed.

Thanks for this @GabrielBuule and all Government requires for registration is 35,000/= per church marriage but of the over 3000 churches only a quarter are compliant. I will start doing the name and shame very soon on behalf of @NIRA_Ug
In Uganda, the standard government fee for a civil marriage in Uganda is UGX 260,000 if at least one of the parties is a Ugandan citizen or a registered refugee. Meanwhile, Churches charge over 1 million, and most of them never take an obligation to register marriages with NIRA as per the law. Thieves.

The death of King Oyo has deeply touched me because I mean he became king @ 3, we watched him grow up. In some way he kind of belonged to us all. It's a pity that he has gone this early, the close I came to meeting him was last year when he came to close the Fort Portal Marathon.
