This captures my feelings perfectly. It’s weird to know how the last blacksmiths felt. eod.com/blog/2026/02/lose-my…

It's beyond obvious at this point that @Wikipedia is a failed experiment that should simply be taken offline. It is too easily manipulated by malignant actors, who may or may not be on the payroll of a foreign government. Because it is now the source for so much AI content, the ramifications are huge and it's no longer enough to say, "Don't trust Wikipedia" because its content now infiltrates everything. The problem is that although volunteers create and maintain the encyclopedia content, the Wikimedia Foundation now has hundreds of professional paid staff members whose salaries aggregate over $100M, the CEO makes around $500k. These people will never decide to voluntarily give up their jobs. It's become yet another NGO that outlived its usefulness and is now doing more harm than good.
🚨 NEW: The Wikipedia editor who's been rewriting Abdul El-Sayed's locked page since June was just exposed by @AshleyRindsberg. I went through every edit. He deleted that El-Sayed "has never been granted a medical license." And that's just the start. Full receipts below 🧵 1/

Sweet. It's a 1 megawatt nuclear microreactor that fits in a shipping container. Gas-cooled, first by helium, then air. Runs for five years, then you ship it back to the factory, where they take care of the spent fuel and refuel it.
BREAKING: For the first time in American history, the Department of Energy has approved a commercial nuclear microreactor's safety analysis for full-power operations. LA-based Radiant secured the approval, with testing planned at Idaho National Laboratory.

It's pretty funny when the renewable advocates just come out and say "Yeah so that energy system we told you to build? It totally sucks."
New Smart Energy Council analysis shows unchecked data centre demand could add $40 billion to power bills and increase wholesale prices by up to 75%. Release: hubs.ly/Q04CfGwL0 Report: hubs.ly/Q04CfGCC0 #SmartEnergyCouncil #EnergyAffordability #DataCentres

If only we’d built nuclear plants instead of Snowy Hydro 2. Even in the worst case scenario where Bowen compares it to Hinkley C Nuclear Plant that will be an about a 3x cost increase, a lot better than a 12x blowout for a battery. Hinkley C will produce 7% of the UK’s electricity from just 2 reactors for over 60 years. At more realistic CSIRO prices you could have built 5 large nuclear reactors for the up to $50bn price tag of Snowy Hydro 2 (including transmission lines). It’s worth reminding ourselves that the one reactor Australia did build recently, the OPAL research reactor, was basically on time and on budget.

Long yet will that march be delayed, Gondor wanes, you say. But Gondor stands, and even the end of its strength is still very strong. For few, I deem, know of our deeds, and therefore guess little at their peril, if we should fail at last. Believe not that in the land of Gondor the blood of Númenor is spent, nor all its pride and dignity forgotten. By our valour the wild folk of the East are still restrained, and the terror of Morgul kept at bay; and thus alone are peace and freedom maintained in the lands behind us, bulwark of the West. ... But still we fight on, holding all the west shores of Anduin; and those who shelter behind us give us praise, if ever they hear our name: much praise but little help

Holy shit is this real?
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

This is the most serious 48 hours in cybersecurity history. "Black October" they're calling it It seems every *hour* there's a new incident, that in a typical year, would be one of the biggest incidents of the *entire year* SUMMARY OF THE LAST 48 HOURS: YEAR-LEVEL INCIDENTS (In a typical year, these would be among the biggest incidents of the year): 1. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline. 2. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4. 3. Guys I’m scared the takeoff is starting. I swear any one of the ~10 CVEs that dropped in the last 24 hours would’ve been “one of the worst in recent years” except a new one is dropping every hour

It wasn't "4", it was "0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000004", completely different.

Stoicism teaches us we can reduce the suffering we experience due to an unpleasant experience by reframing our judgement of it. For example, if I make a big mistake and am having a bad day as a result, I like to remember that at least I didn't use 4 as my private key.

“The American president cannot understand why Zelensky and his people do not simply accept their situation and lie down under Russia’s tank treads.”
Humiliating and dangerous: Trump has now finally just made America an ally of the Kremlin and is aiding Putin in his war against an American friend and partner. Shameful betrayal of a US friend, and pathetic submission to a US enemy. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…

If this is true it's a level of evil that's really, really hard to imagine. It's not a good-faith question about how much we should fund Ukraine or what realistic endgame goals are. It's choosing to put innocent civilians in harm's way. I hope there are investigations.

The Orange Man is, in fact, bad.
🚨On Zelenskyy, Trump says "he'd better damn well stop" hitting refineries in Russia because it's affecting diesel and hurting US farmers. "I think it's time for Ukraine to get a new president."
