Yes, those photos youโve seen are real.
More than 18 years ago, a baby named Lamine Yamal and his mom Sheila met Lionel Messi at a UNICEF fundraising photoshoot.
Today, their achievements on the pitch inspire millions. Off the pitch, both Messi and Lamine Yamal use their voices and platforms as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors to support and advocate for children around the world.
The goal? That every child survives, thrives, and fulfils their potential.
We are proud to have them on our team.

I had a fruitful conversation with my brother, President @PaulKagame, regarding #Rwandaโs ongoing response to the #Marburg outbreak.
I expressed my appreciation for his leadership and the effective management of the outbreak response, along with his commitment to end it soon.
We also discussed the significant investments in establishing a local vaccine manufacturing facility in Kigali, which is well underway and making significant progress, leveraging lessons learned from COVID-19 to address the equity challenges faced by Africa.

What an amazing morning!
I celebrated #IDG2023 with girls and young women that were part of โVoice Up Mindsโ, a girl-empowerment programme by @impanuro supported by @unicefrw.
Key takeaway: Girls can do ANYTHING! Invest in them, give them a safe space, and watch them flourish!

Girls are disproportionately affected by unfair social norms that get in the way of their dreams.
Do you believe that, as an individual, you can make a change in girls' access to opportunities? Let us know what you think or what you have already done to create access for girls.
