The Sub-Divisional Administration Uri, in collaboration with the Police Department, organised a ‘Run for Unity’ today to celebrate #RashtriyaEktaDiwas, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The run commenced from NS Bridge and culminated at Mini Stadium Uri, promoting national unity, integrity and brotherhood. 🇮🇳

SDM Uri chaired a meeting with the Forest and Revenue Departments to discuss various interdepartmental issues. The following directions were issued:
1. Joint Demarcation: Forest officials shall conduct joint demarcation of the identified land in coordination with Revenue officials.
2. Forest Land Identification: Proper identification and verification of forest land shall be carried out jointly by both departments.
3. KML Map Updation: KML maps shall be updated in coordination with Revenue officials to ensure accurate demarcation and identification of land.
4. Interdepartmental Coordination: Both departments shall ensure close coordination for timely resolution of pending issues.

SDM Uri chaired a meeting with NHPC and Project Beacon officials to review the status of ongoing works, discuss pending issues and grievances of the general public, and ensure timely resolution of concerns in Sub-Division Uri. Emphasis was laid on effective inter-departmental coordination and expediting ongoing developmental works.

SDM Uri chaired an Education Review Meeting today and issued the following key directions:
1Identify students who genuinely require coaching for competitive examinations such as IAS, JKAS/KAS, JEE, NEET and other competitive examinations, and submit a comprehensive list to facilitate coaching support.
2Compile a list of national-level players across all sports disciplines in Sub-Division Uri to promote local sporting talent and facilitate opportunities for young athletes.
3Prepare and submit a comprehensive list of all football clubs functioning in Sub-Division Uri, including their names, locations and contact details, wherever available.
SDM Uri assured full support and assistance from his office to the Education Sector and emphasised that all initiatives, ideas and projects undertaken by the previous SDM would be carried forward and further strengthened to ensure continuity and sustained progress in the education sector. The administration remains committed to improving educational opportunities and promoting youth development across Sub-Division Uri.

Traffic Restoration on Baramulla–Uri National Highway at Rajerwani
Uri, October 18: The landslide-prone stretch of the Baramulla–Uri National Highway at Rajerwani has been cleared for single-lane traffic movement. Caution tape has been installed at the site as a precautionary measure.
The general public is advised to drive carefully while passing through the affected stretch and strictly follow safety precautions until the road is fully cleared and declared safe for normal traffic movement.

Electricity Restoration and Landslide Clearance on Baramulla–Uri National Highway at Rajerwani
Uri, October 16: Electricity restoration and clearance of the landslide on the Baramulla–Uri National Highway at Rajerwani are currently underway to restore normal connectivity in the affected areas of Uri Sub-Division.
The electricity supply to the Noorkhah and Mohura Receiving Stations has been restored, and both stations have been successfully charged.
Meanwhile, clearance operations at the landslide-affected stretch of the Baramulla–Uri National Highway at Rajerwani are in progress. Electricity supply to the Salamabad and Bandi Receiving Stations remains affected. Efforts are underway to restore both road connectivity and electricity supply, with restoration expected by this evening, subject to the progress of the ongoing works.
The general public is advised to use the alternative route via Gingle–Paranpillan–Bandi until the clearance of the landslide-affected road at Rajerwani and restoration of normal traffic movement.
The concerned departments are coordinating to ensure the earliest possible restoration of essential services and road connectivity.

A Tablet Distribution Programme was organized at the SDM Office, Uri, wherein tablets provided by Comtech Company were distributed among students from remote Vibrant Villages of Uri Sub-Division.
The initiative is aimed at bridging the digital divide and enhancing access to technology-enabled education for students in remote and border areas.
Appreciate the efforts of Comtech towards promoting digital learning and empowering our young students.

SDM Uri today visited remote Chorkhud Dhok in Boniyar Tehsil, where a medical camp was organised under the Vibrant Village Programme for TB screening and other health check-ups. Doctors & health staff from PHC Boniyar, along with CMO, BMO Boniyar & BMO Tangmarg, provided essential healthcare services.
The SDM also visited the seasonal school, interacted with students & teachers, and met local villagers to understand their issues and requirements. He appreciated the PHC Boniyar team for taking healthcare services to this remote seasonal Dhok.

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, a Tiranga Bike Rally was organised from Kaman Post to Uri Market, led by Prince Kumar, IAS, SDM Uri, to promote the spirit of patriotism, national unity and pride in the Tricolour.
The rally was attended by the Commandant, CISF; SDPO Uri; Captain; BRO, along with other officers and officials. A large number of local youth also participated enthusiastically in the rally, carrying the Tricolour and expressing their patriotic spirit.
The rally traversed the route from Kaman Post to Uri Market, spreading the message of “Har Ghar Tiranga” and encouraging citizens to proudly display the National Flag as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
The SDM Uri appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all officers, officials and local youth and highlighted the importance of collective participation in strengthening the spirit of national unity, patriotism and civic responsibility.
