Secretary Bessent goes toe-to-toe with Margaret Brennan over the exploding Somali fraud scandal in Minnesota.
Bessent revealed that Treasury is now tracking money that was moved out of the U.S. to the Middle East and Somalia — by individuals tied to the scheme.
And he ended his appearance with a line Brennan clearly didn’t expect.
BESSENT: “To be clear, the initial fraud was discovered by the IRS, for which I’m the acting commissioner, it was discovered by IRS criminal investigations unit.”
“This was not endogenous that the state of Minnesota decided. We had to go in and clean up the mess for them. This is part of the continued cleanup.”

SCOOP: Emails I obtained show Fauci again asking an aide to delete an email in violation of federal law.
"PLEASE DELETE THIS EMAIL THEN DELETE FROM THE DELETED FILE," Fauci wrote.
The emails involve Fauci's infamous 2011 op-ed defending gain-of-function research despite the risk it would cause a pandemic: "A FLU RISK WORTH TAKING."
Fauci griped about two New York Times op-eds that presciently warned gain-of-function research could lead to DOOMSDAY. He was rattled by the op-ed saying he was risking the NIH's reputation.
Fauci has been caught ordering the deletion of federal records twice before, despite testifying under oath he never did.

CONTEXT: A credible whistleblower complaint was filed alleging that the CIA, FBI, and other IC agencies suppressed intelligence about China’s influence operations during the 2020 election targeting President Trump and his campaign.
China’s goal was to “impede” President Trump’s re-election and “denigrate” him as a candidate. The DNI is working to declassify the records.
Recently declassified records show China obtained more than 200 million voter files during the 2020 election cycle.
No evidence votes changed, but China could use data for identity theft, false voter registration, and coupled with other hacked data, such as credit reporting, for blackmail.
No immediate response from NSA nor former senior intelligence official, contacted through reported place of work. Will update if I hear back.

A new paper formalized mathematically and mechanically what the world has been fearing for months:
AI layoffs can be individually rational and collectively ruinous at the same time.
“The AI Layoff Trap” (Falk & Tsoukalas, June 2026)
The mechanism is simple and brutal:
• Each firm captures 100% of the cost savings from automating a worker
• But bears only a fraction of the demand destruction that worker’s lost income creates as long as not all firms do it.
This triggers and unstoppable prisoner dilemma race towards self destruction.
• First adopters see the damage lands on rivals
That asymmetry is a demand externality. It locks rational firms into an automation arms competition, displacing labor far beyond the collectively optimal point.
Knowing the trap exists doesn’t help. No firm can stop unilaterally.
It’s a prisoner’s dilemma at economy scale.
The uncomfortable results:
• The loss hits workers and firm owners
• More competition makes it worse, not better
• “Better” AI amplifies the excess
. Firm end up inondating the market with products that cost nothing to produce but that no one can afford to buy anymore, a lose-lose situation.
• Then the researchers test mathematically different solutions, Wage adjustments,free entry, capital taxes, worker equity, UBI, upskilling, and Coasean bargaining but they all fail to fix the problem.
The only instrument that works in their mathematical model: a Pigouvian automation tax, price the externality at the source instead of trying to compensate the damage after the fact.
Context: displacement has historically self-corrected through new task creation (Acemoglu–Restrepo’s reinstatement effect). Whether that holds this cycle is an open question , displacement has intensified over four decades while new work creation lagged, and the current wave is hitting entry-level workers first.
Macro read-through:
If this framing gains policy traction, the AI capex trade acquires a new tail risk, not regulation of models, but taxation of deployment. The political trigger to watch is entry-level labor data, not AI benchmarks.
The paper’s darkest point stands alone:
Even firms that fully understand the trap will keep automating.
The incentives, not the awareness, are the problem.

NEW CLUSTER HAVANA SYNDROME CASES:
I have confirmed through multiple sources at least three incidents beginning in 2020 of suspected directed energy attacks involving US government personnel in Northern Virginia. I also understand the number of reported incidents is much higher.
In some cases, the individual(s) were investigating directed energy weapons (DEW) technology. At least one incident was reported to occur at a US government facility. In previous cases, the individuals' US government work was linked to the Russia portfolio.
I also learned that the cluster of new cases presents pattern: an initial strike then followed by a flurry of attacks.
CIA/ODNI did not respond to questions seeking comment.

According to Special Counsel Hur, the ghostwriter erased the Biden tapes after he learned of Hur's investigation.
Hur considered charging the ghostwriter with obstruction but declined, in part because the ghostwriter admitted to his actions, kept the Biden transcripts, and the FBI recovered the recordings from his computer.
NOTE: The Biden audio tapes were recorded SEVEN YEARS BEFORE Hur concluded Biden could not be prosecuted for mishandling classified information because of his age, and failed memory.

On the Eve of Dr. Fauci’s Scheduled Testimony Wednesday @SenRandPaul Erdman details “bureaucratic guerrilla warfare” to hide the facts, what he calls the “Globalist” mentality inside the intelligence community, push back against @realDonaldTrump’s agenda, reveals potential financial conflicts of interest surrounding Dr. Anthony Fauci and gain-of-function research and why he believes the Havana Syndrome cover-up was bigger than COVID.
CIA Director of Public Affairs Liz Lyons provided this statement:
“There is no disputing CIA’s record of successfully executing on President Trump’s transparency initiatives. Any insinuation that CIA was an obstacle and not a facilitator is wrong—the DIG was temporary and disbanded at the direction of the DNI herself after less than a year.”
Former DNI Gabbard did not immediately respond, nor did the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Dr. Anthony Fauci and Peter Daszak did not return emails seeking comment.
