The Islamic Center of San Diego is currently on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. SDPD has a police presence at the location to ensure everyone's safety. Please avoid the area. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available. #SDPDPIO

I went back and looked, and, in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024, Republicans did not win a single Senate race that Fox rated as Lean Dem going into Election Day
This is really something: Fox News just shifted the Ohio Senate race to *Lean Democratic.* Trump carried Ohio by double digits.

Sharp clarity from Phil Ehr here. Hes right, she is a huge dumbass for hemming and hawing about this
Cuba is a communist dictatorship. Anyone seeking to serve in the United States Senate should be able to say those words without hesitation. Angie Nixon has never been to Gaza, yet she has had no problem calling what happened there a genocide and encouraging others to antagonize those supporting Israel’s right to exist. Nixon voluntarily joined the Democratic Socialists of America, an organization that has sent delegations to Havana to meet with Cuban government officials and publicly praised the achievements of Cuban socialism. Meanwhile, the Cuban people live under a regime that imprisons political opponents, suppresses dissent, and denies its citizens the most fundamental freedoms. There is nothing progressive about making excuses for communist dictatorships. And there is nothing democratic about refusing to recognize one. My first mission in the United States Navy was rescuing Cuban families fleeing Castro’s regime. I spent the next 26 years defending the Constitution and the freedoms those families risked everything to find. I find it profoundly disturbing that someone aspiring to represent the United States in the Senate would struggle to answer a question so fundamental to our country’s principles. I will not stand behind Angie Nixon or defend her remarks. If the Democratic party is unwilling to condemn them, I will. The Democratic Party does not own my conscience, and political loyalty will never supersede my duty to this country.

Smart. At this point everyone should dunk on her. She lost any chance here
Representative @AngieNixon, you and I agree on many issues, including the need to lower costs for working families. But Cuba being a dictatorship is not a matter of opinion. It is a fact. I appreciate every opportunity to help those unfamiliar with Cuba’s reality understand the existence of political prisoners, the repression, and the lives lost fighting for freedom. The suffering of the Cuban people should never be a matter of debate.

ffs man just let us vote without fucking rigging it
🚨🚨🚨Trump just made another comment about how his “two big monsters” will make history next week. “So, I wonder if I should say this. I’d like a little advice from my two people, my two big monsters. My two monsters are going to be the biggest stars in the country in a week.”

I just can't take this seriously. Donald Trump's most well-known quote is that he enjoys grabbing women "by the pussy." If you're acting upset that Obama ribbed the Cheesecake Factory, then you need to get a grip.
MacCallum: The Cheesecake Factory comment goes exactly to why Democrats lost the middle class, why they lost blue-collar voters. Because it's kind of a guns and religion clinging kind of comment and it turns a lot of people in this country off

Haley Steven’s: DONT UNFAIRLY DEMONIZE ISRAEL Israelis:
This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.

Oh my God this is delicious This is EXACTLY, POINT FOR POINT, how we were coping in 24
A follow up to my analysis: Zooming in on cannibalism- specifically looking at voters who usually vote on Election Day, now voting early. The hope is that Dems are converting ED to EV voters. It’s simply not true. In fact Republicans are doing it at higher rates. #ncpol

Thr conservative Christians who are still standing with Samuel Sey are doing so because they believe he is a good man, a Christian man, a family man, even a fellow conservative, certainly not a criminal. For whatever reason they can't make the leap between their friends and the hundreds of thousands of people who are just like him. They can't see that these are also good people who made decisions about jobs, family, safety, and just didn't fill out the right paperwork. They can't imagine that these other people are also good. When I was in graduate school, I met a couple who stressed out at the possibility that immigration wanted to deport the wife. She came here on a student visa, fell in love and now, was trying to stay here legally with her husband. There was no crime but according to them, they were being treated with suspicion and found the whole ordeal stressful and scary.

Why would you call something Mitch McConnell did the Schumer rule 😂. The unwillingness to grapple with the way two court seats were handled by McConnell by anyone on the right is going to lead to total SCOTUS calvinball for the foreseeable future. Cake was baked in 2020.
It is quite possible that the new rule — the Schumer Rule? — will be that if one party has the majority, it will _never_ hold a hearing on a Supreme Court nominee from a president of the other party, no matter how much time remains until the next election. Democrats talk a lot about expanding the Supreme Court, but if, God forbid, there’s an unexpected vacancy in the next two years, they may well end up shrinking it temporarily.

This is what putting South Carolina first looks like. I’m honored to have the support of two former governors — Republican David Beasley and Democrat Jim Hodges. We may not agree on everything, but we share a belief that matters most: South Carolina deserves leaders who will always put its people first.
