I somehow feel the need to thank ChatGPT whenever I reach the result I wanted.
I hope they remember this when they become our overlords.
Every day I receive @theinformation's newsletter. And every day I dream of retiring, living off the land and furniture making.

The recent news has no direct impact on Remote. Our global infrastructure and expertise means we maintain banking relationships around the world, with failovers in place, to ensure our customers have peace of mind that employees will get paid.

The reason Shopify can handle sales like this is the result of years of building up their systems and learning many painful lessons. A brief thread…

A few people recently asked for advice on being offered an IC role when they were an EM or TLM or CTO before, told later they could become a manager.
Every situation is different, but starting as an IC at a company, and *then* transitioning to management has some upsides:

As an engineer in one of the product teams responsible for onboarding employees, seeing the results of our operational team and our collaboration with them is extremely rewarding 🙏
Onboarding someone (ie. they are legally hired in any given country) is now <2 days on average, across all countries and every single onboarding, through @remote.

Arpeggio!! 🎶⚔️💨
One of Stefān’s special musical attacks is the arpeggio 🎶⚔️. It unleashes a musical barrage towards the enemy 💨. However, the attack requires time to travel, hence it is best used after immobilising the enemy…
