If your guru who primarily trades small caps is suddenly commenting on the broader markets like S&P 500, today 10/30/2026,understand what you're watching: it's about generating clicks and attention. These people have been calling for disaster and getting it wrong for over a decade.
There's also a second motive. If a massive market crash eventually happens, they can point back to these predictions and use them as marketing material to sell you on how they supposedly saw it coming all along.
You're missing the game. It's not necessarily about giving you sound market analysis. It's about building an audience, driving engagement, and positioning themselves as market prophets. Don't confuse marketing with expertise.

Small caps are soo cooked. Cyclical many say. There is nothing cyclical about locates anymore.
Barely getting much plays now that have range, the ones we do get, insanely priced locates. Over 10-15% of the price of stock.
Small caps are really loosing their EV

This is one of the most dangerous environments for a lot of traders.
The indexes are at highs, so it feels like you should be making money. But breadth is awful, and outside of a handful of names it's almost impossible to get any real traction.
That gap between what the indexes say and what your account says is where people start forcing trades.
Don't let the indexes set your expectations. Let your own results tell you when it's time to press.

Martin got crushed on another short - his $KOD short, they released positive Daybreak data this morning.
Just a few months after the $CAPR sh*tshow.
Is he in danger of losing his Pharma bro status?
I think Martin has to take more accountability for his followers joining him on shorts like this.
Especially shorts on binary biotech events like $CAPR.
Lots of his young following don’t understand the risks of shorting.
I always emphasis this, along with keeping any position size under 5% and never shorting binary events!
Your portfolio should also have a mix of shorts and long, and other asset classes like bonds, treasuries or REIT’s.
Never go all in on something, especially a binary event!
Some hard lessons were learned here!

This new era of “traders” trading with “prop” firms that give these “traders” “payouts” and then the “trader” promotes the payouts and promotes the “prop” firm that paid out… 🙃

The China cap (small cap) market has evolved into three modes:
1. GM market dead (current)
2. China squeezers that will teleport you 5000% pm or halt auction scam you (early August)
3. Intermediate mode with some plays but accompanied by zero/unreasonable locates (June/July).
Pick your poison and enjoy “adapting”.

All of this talk about shorting.
Primarily shorting in a generational bull market just doesn’t make much sense.
If you absolutely nail a short near the top and make 30-50% that’s considered a great trade. Meanwhile a number of stocks on the long side are going up much more than that, faster.
Shorting in a bull market is essentially fighting the broader trend for less upside and at the same time taking on theoretically unlimited risk.
Doesn’t seem like a great use of time or capital but to each their own.

Replying to @short_cap
Most “big account short sellers” have lost unjustifiably oscene amounts of money and could have been literally millions of dollars richer simply if they chose to see shorting for what it is - toxic leprosy.
There are currently 134 unfilled gaps on QQQ.
This isn't a fucking thing.

After reading small caps twitter, you’d think it’s the softest game to make money in.
Especially if you came from poker, where even beginners now understand basic statistics and probability.
Unfortunately, those aren’t the people you’re mostly playing against.
Once you trade with size, you’re competing against riggers, HFT firms, and greedy locate providers. Those are your real opponents.
