This suggests an Economist editorial of old, when it had something of importance to say and what it said mattered. In fact it’s just mundane milquetoast. Nobody cares. Its editor should spend less time trying to be a TV inquisitor, which she is not cut out to be, and give her magazine some robust intellectual backbone, which it sadly lacks.
Britain is a parliamentary democracy and the prime minister has its confidence. Rather than remaining beholden to his predecessor’s manifesto, he has three years to be as bold as he chooses economist.com/leaders/2026/1…

Someone sent me a post that said this on it about the murder of Liverpool’s Ken Bigley: “These are the last images of Ken Bigley. Moments before he knew his head was to be hacked off on camera. I was sent the video years ago. Not because of murder porn but as a warning of what will come if we don't stop it. It changed me as a man. Mohammed Yaseem took his time. Smiled at the camera. He took his time removing Kens head while still conscious. Thats the idea. The same as the videos of Jewish women having their breasts cut off and thrown around like a ball as she lays there screaming knowing whats coming next. They kept him in a cage for hours telling him his inevitable fate. Unimaginable cruelty. His crime.... being a westerner. His killer Mohamed Yaseen Mohammed Yaseen is also responsible for setting fire to women and girls in cages for not submitting to Islam. He burned them alive. Laughing and shouting Allahu Akbar. God is great Setting fire to children and women and slowly removing another humans head whilst praising a sky wizard..... Have a wild guess where he lives now???? Windsor. Seen shopping in the Co Op We know he's not working so your paying his rent, utilities and food bill. Our government won't deport him or lock him up. Where's the fuckin morality?” It is truly terrifying what we are allowing our government to do to us.

This is shocking Here’s a comparison of what the streets looked like in Johannesburg, South Africa, compared to what they like today in 2026…. WOW There was a major political shift that happened during this time. The main turning point was the end of apartheid and the 1994 democratic elections, which transferred political power from White minority rule to Black majority rule under the African National Congress What followed was a “financial doom loop” a collapse of the water, electricity, roads and infrastructure system as well as systemic corruption

The Britain the ‘97 Conservative manifesto describes is shockingly functional. World leading in fiscal prudence and economic success: More exports per capita than America, more pension savings than the entire EU, an entire section called “the best place in the world to live”

People need to understand clearly what is happening here. Andy Burnham has never been a fan of Britain’s democratic decision to leave the European Union in 2016. The referendum was one of the biggest democratic processes in modern Britain, with strong views on both sides. The Prime Minister now claims officials told him that Russia interfered in the referendum. Burnham used his first speech at the UN to announce the creation of the National Centre for Information Defence. He said it would tackle Russian misinformation that sows division, interferes in our democracy, spreads false narratives about Britain and pushes people towards the “far right”. But today, a Foreign Office minister slapped down that claim, saying Russia was not successful in influencing the Brexit referendum. It is clear that this new centre will almost certainly be used to clamp down on those who do not subscribe to Burnham’s vision of Britain or the progressive orthodoxies he promotes. It looks as if Andy Burnham is now spreading misinformation about misinformation — the very thing he claims threatens democracy.
