Mostly, the entire state is likely to experience a break in rainfall. Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Kumari, Thoothukudi, parts of Nellai, Cuddalore and Sivaganga still have a chance of receiving rains, but rainfall activity is expected to reduce from the evening. North Sri Lanka would get very heavy rains today.

The low-pressure system was earlier expected to be near the Chennai–Puducherry coast (refer to the previous image). However, it has been dragged southwards towards the Delta / Sri Lanka coast. As a result, those areas are likely to receive rainfall, while Chennai has missed out on the expected rains completely.

From tomorrow noon, the entire state is likely to turn dry, with rainfall activity dropping to nil, as Cyclone Arnab pulls away the easterly winds along with it.

==> Under the influence of these twin systems, the Northeast Monsoon is expected to remain active to vigorous over Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Puducherry for the next 3 days.
==> The Well Marked Low over the Kerala coasts is likely to move towards Tamil Nadu. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall activity with intense lightning and thunderstorms is expected over coastal and interior districts of Tamil Nadu.

அறநிலையத்துறை அமைச்சராக ரமேஷ் பொறுப்பேற்றவுடன் மாஸ்க் அணிந்துகொண்டு திருச்செந்தூர் முருகன் கோவிலில் அதிரடியாக ஆய்வு செய்தார். அப்போது வசூலில் ஈடுபட்ட அர்ச்சகர்கள்மீது நடவடிக்கையும் எடுத்தார். ஆனால் அதே திருச்செந்தூர் கோவிலில் வசூல் அனல் பறப்பதாக தகவல்!
கோயில் வாசலில் சில அர்ச்சகர்கள் ஒரு பக்தருக்கு ரூ.2,000 வசூலிக்கிறார்கள். காவலாளிகளும் தனியாக ரூ.500 முதல் ரூ.1,000 வரை பெற்றுக்கொண்டு பக்தர்களை அழைத்துச் செல்கிறார்கள். அதேபோல் முடிக்காணிக்கைக்குக் கட்டணம் இல்லை என்று சொன்னாலும், ரூ.100 கொடுத்தால்தான் முடிதிருத்துபவர்கள் கத்தியைக் கையிலெடுக்கிறார்கள். குறைவாகக் கொடுத்தால் எழுந்திருக்கச் சொல்லி அனுப்பிவிடுகிறார்கள். நாழிக்கிணற்றில் ஒரு லிட்டர் பாட்டிலில் தண்ணீர் பிடித்துக் கொடுக்க ரூ.50 வசூலிக்கப்படுகிறதாம்.
