Clay Travis claims The Cheesecake Factory was a childhood luxury. Except it didn't open in Nashville until he was 26. @Timodc and @PabloTorre investigate the curious case of his restaurant nostalgia: “We are now swift boating Clay Travis for Cheesecake Factory stolen valor.”

Legitimately was gonna buy one of the big packs of diff candy at CVS… shit was $35, felt pretty egregious. Gonna need to get butterscotch and those strawberry hard candies that you only can find at your grandparents houses.
JUST IN: Americans are reportedly buying less Halloween candy as prices soar +44% over 5 years, nearly double the rate of grocery inflation.

When CJ Carr goes to watch his brother Tommy Carr play, it’s a great story. But when a friend of mine goes to watch my son Ryan Day play, Pete Thamel throws a fit.

An incredible summary. Forgetting the millions of other bat shit crazy things, Not sure how as a “financially conservative republican” you still are on board with this.
JD - I've got 15 free minutes before my son's hockey practice ends, so let me see how many of Trump's enrichment schemes you didn't see that I can remind you of. 1/ First one is easy: Trump has executed over 30,000 stock trades, many on inside information, netting him millions.

Are we great again yet??? Can someone tell me how much winning we are doing???
Trump ran on cutting taxes. But once tariffs are counted, his policies are raising taxes and costs this year for every income group except the richest 1%, per a new report from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy. The reason: tariffs, which are largely passed on to consumers as higher prices, outweigh the tax cuts for most Americans. Even the right-leaning Tax Foundation calls the tariffs the largest U.S. tax increase as a share of GDP since 1993.

Billions of dollars’ worth of contracts predicting oil would fall and the S&P 500 would rise were placed about 15 minutes before Trump announced a U-turn on Iran in a post on Truth Social. CFTC staff began to investigate-- then were told to lay off. bloomberg.com/news/features/…

New reporting from ProPublica just exposed that Pete Hegseth polled top military commanders on cutting the program that protects civilians from military strikes. Every single one wanted to keep the program, but Hegseth gutted it anyway for being too “woke.” What followed was a U.S. strike in Yemen that a Pentagon review confirmed killed 153 civilians. On day one of Trump’s unauthorized war in Iran, another strike hit an Iranian primary school and killed up to 168 people. Central Command itself warned that these cuts would mean “increased risk of target misidentification,” but Hegseth ignored them.  These are the consequences of having the greatest military in the world in the hands of the most incompetent SecDef in American history. propublica.org/article/hegse…
