The quest to prevent COVID cases is Public Health's Afghanistan. Ends the same way, humiliation and tears.

Yes, repealing DRIPA does not impact existing rights under Section 35.
But it would result in a move back to a ‘consult’ approach versus a ‘consent’ requirement for many resource companies operating in BC on crown land.
That one word difference is important.

FACT: The annual funding Israel receives from the US amounts to less than one-tenth of 1% of the federal budget. Less than 1/10th of 1%.
FACT: That annual funding would cover only a few hours of federal health care spending. A few hours.
Yet politicians who specialize in scapegoating would have you believe that Israel is responsible for America’s affordability crisis.
Like every form of scapegoating before it, it is a dangerous lie.

I was assured with Bari Weiss in charge 60 Minutes would no longer be doing any journalism....
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him.
Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

Canadian heavy crude is fetching near-record premiums across the Pacific, bolstering the case for the country’s plan to build a new pipeline to its west coast.
A barrel of Canadian Cold Lake crude delivered to South Korea traded at a record $9.50 a barrel more than the Dubai crude benchmark in September.
It’s a stark contrast to the weakening price Canadian oil is getting in the US, its biggest market. Oil sands benchmark Western Canadian Select’s discount, called a differential, to a monthly average of West Texas Intermediate futures widened to as much as $28.25 a barrel in Alberta last week, the biggest in almost four years.

Wab Kinew calls on Ottawa to abolish Indian Act: "I'm not sure if that lines up with your vision of Canada, that we still have a race-based form of identification in this country. It's long overdue that we have a relationship with Indigenous peoples in Canada that reflects who we are as Canadians today."

Actually, if you cut an ad saying Americans are having a tough time buying bananas because we spend 1/10 of 1% of the budget on Israel -- with most of that being funneled back to U.S. defense contractors -- and not a really big storm in the Pacific, you do, in fact, hate Jews.
A lot of current narratives around Israel will have to shift fast if Eizenkot wins….but people expecting broad military doctrine change (or de escalation with Iran) if Netanyahu is elected out will probably not get it
> He is Mizrahi, of Moroccan decent (anti Israel proponents won’t be able to call him a white European)
> His son and 2 nephews were killed in Gaza…he is extremely hawkish on total Hamas disarmament & destruction of their military capabilities
> He used to be pro 2SS but like
many Israelis changed tune after 10/7, now opposes Palestinian state
> He breaks with Bibi on Haredi draft…being for it (with only a 3% exemption)
> He’s vocally against West Bank settler violence
> With Iran he agrees with Bibi (and most Israelis) they need to ensure their nuclear capabilities are destroyed…but he differs in opposing IRGC regime change as a military strategy.
> His Lebanon military policy is very similar to Bibi
> He wants to restore bipartisan US/Israel relations, but thinks Bibi caved too often to US pressure
The outcome if he wins is probably a more centrist leadership with broader domestic & global support
…but don’t expect the status quo on current escalation with Iran or their proxys to change dramatically
BREAKING: Former IDF chief Gadi Eizenkot projected to become Israeli Prime Minister after Tuesday’s election, replacing Netanyahu.

StealMyBitcoin is solved! This is the absolute best explanation you’ll see on how hard #php2shell is to exploit. The author had to trigger a precise memory corruption condition, leak internal memory addresses, bypass aslr, reverse engineer php’s internal memory structures, forge structures to hijack execution, and account for php build differences, worker behavior and timing to get RCE. 20 http requests with a 7 out of 10 success rate. What an amazingly successful CTF. Impressive the creator was able to keep the server up during all the attempts. With all the BS around it’s nice to see something concrete that moves the art forward.

Love this. The💰is still in the wallet. Finally we get some ground truth around how hard php2shell is to exploit. The amount of bullshit flying around from vendors capitalizing on the moment is staggering, And the alert fatigue they’re creating is really going to hurt when a mass exploitable RCE emerges. We still haven’t seen a production site hacked via #php2shell at Wordfence.

Progressives blaming Eby’s defeat in the election timing are totally missing the point. The whole purpose of the early election was to try to overcome the government’s unpopularity rooted in its poor outcomes.
The real problem was the cumulative cost of Eby’s ideological agenda. His government was the last holdout of the failures of Trudeauian progressivism: a subordination of economic growth in favour of deficit financed welfare spending, a dogmatic commitment to climate change and its anti-development effects, excessive identity politics and an overly self critical posture towards Canadian history, and its radical experiment with the harm reduction model.
Election timing and campaign choices didn’t defeat the Eby government. A broad cross-section of British Columbians—from rural parts of the province to downtown Vancouver—rejected it based on the self-evident failure of its ideas.

The php2shell thing quickly showed me how little most people know about how memory management works and how hard things like this are to actually port into a reliable exploit.
My first thought looking at the vulns was “this is neat” not that the internet was going to break.
So far I’m glad I turned out to be mostly right I suppose.
