One week on, Oxford Street is already showing what a traffic-free future can look like.
Some businesses are already reporting huge surges in both footfall and sales.

If Putin stops fighting, the war ends. If Zelensky stops fighting then his country will be occupied, leaders murdered, language banned, businesses stolen, children kidnapped. That's what happens in Russian-occupied Ukraine.

The problem with the new Tory IHT proposal is immediately obvious to lots of people - it's a shame the Tories didn't spot it.
I really like Kemi Badenoch, but today’s proposal on inheritance tax makes no sense to me.
If your principal private residence is completely free of IHT when passed to your children, it creates a huge incentive to maximise the amount of wealth tied up in your home.
Why invest in AIM shares, private companies or other productive assets and potentially pay IHT, when you can put the money into a bigger house and pass it on tax-free?
Tax policy should encourage investment in productive assets, not create an even bigger incentive to pour wealth into residential property.

Absolutely majestic now that the cars that damaged it beyond repair are gone. Long may it remain open to pedestrians and cyclists, and closed to cars.

Ban these massive cars, now!!!

Why is the introduction of 20mph speed limits on urban roads framed as a 'war on motorists' instead of 'freedom for pedestrians'? People don't walk or cycle in Leicester because they fear speeding traffic. We need to focus on quality-of-life, not quality-of-drive! dailymail.com/news/article-1…
