FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support — no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water. The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis. Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures." Full story here foxnews.com/politics/inside-…

The onslaught of new global ship orders has begun… Long predicted surge in orders; shippers have deferred orders to replace their aging fleets over concerns of what will be the next fuel as dictated by IMO emission standards. This was a window for growing market share by the US and allies postulated/advocated as far back as Spring 2022. There is precious little time to get more shipbuilding capacity in the US to meet this growing demand for new ships. This is the window for an American maritime revival! “…global orderbook at 203.2m compensated gross tonnes (cgt) at the start of September, up 13% year-on-year and just below May’s all-time high of 210.4m cgt.” “Owners’ willingness to place orders at yards without an established tanker track record likely reflects capacity constraints at established tanker-building yards,” observed Veson. See the news here: splash247.com/global-shipbui… See more here about the potential for a revolution in shipping - new intermodalism - and how the US and its allies can leverage its comparative advantages: heritage.org/sites/default/f…

Maybe this is the most important USN #ShipSpotting picture of the year. (📷by @Gov_Vessel_fan) USN DDG reloading VLS missile by barge & crane in the waters of Tokyo-wan, off Yokosuka. -- If US PACOM & Pacific Fleet have developed a lessons learned list from the Red Sea & Strait of Hormuz campaigns that does not put "VLS Reload" at the very top, then we should all be worried. - Congress has provided the direction: FY25 NDAA: Sec. 1027 Congress formally mandated that SECNAV submit a strategy to deliver a rearm-at-sea capability to the surface fleet FY26 NDAA: Sec. 323 & Sec. 334 Congress designated USTRANSCOM as the global manager responsible for mitigating vulnerabilities in contested logistics, including overseeing global deployment, distribution, ammunition stock posture, and intra-theater resupply - What is actually happening to improve this capability? -- @cdrsalamander @mercoglianos @BDHerzinger @MarSec_Bradford @graham_euan @CavasShips @CSSProvision @WarshipCam

24 OCT 2026 @CopernicusCMS #Sentinel2 🛰️📷 Strait of Hormuz & #Sentinel1 🛰️RADAR📷 Kharg Island -- The 138th @IMOHQ Council meets in a few days, the same week as the US election, and perhaps renewed hostilities. The IMO states: "Despite clear commitments by Member States reflected in these IMO resolutions, repeated calls from the Secretary-General, and persistent appeals from industry and the broader maritime community, innocent seafarers continue to bear the human cost of maritime crises in different regions of the world." "Regrettably, seafarers continue to lose their lives, suffer serious injuries, face abandonment, are denied repatriation and are deprived of basic human necessities, including water, food and medical care, resulting from the ongoing geopolitical conflicts. Too often seafarers are becoming pawns in geopolitical disputes in which they have no stake and over which they have no control, bearing a heavy human cost for keeping global trade moving." -- See @UANI Iran Shipping Update for details: unitedagainstnucleariran.com… -- @JemimaShelley @mercoglianos @TankerTrackers @tom_bike @brentdsadler @captsingh @MikeSchuler @MarcusHand1 @IMOSecGen
