Today, millions of migrants are separated from their families by policies that treat their right to family life as a privilege rather than a fundamental human right. Protecting migrants’ ability to live with their loved ones must be understood and implemented as a core responsibility of States. Family unity is a human right - not something to be earned.

Trump’s Big Ugly Bill requires children escaping violence and persecution around the world to pay thousands of dollars to seek asylum – creating an artificial barrier and an obvious opportunity for the cartels’ human trafficking operations.
