On SC's evolution of creamy layer for Reserved elites and the factoring of their eventual migration under the umbrella of merit !

PoV : I take the liberty to be wrong partly or wholly , but perhaps everyone is reading too much into the latest political theatrics. Take a step back. This looks less like something on the verge of collapse and more like a carefully choreographed drama. The meetings, the sudden discontent, the lifelong loyalists falling out of line, the manufactured suspense & the timing is rather interesting: Nov 3 is approaching, and the real political thunder belongs there.
Could this entire spectacle be an desperate attempt to steal that thunder or to conjure a confusion of sorts ? Don't mistake the stage management for a rebellion. The script may be far more predictable than the actors suggest. 🙂
Dear Collector sb,this is a real life case study of how a brainless thrust on rules excludes the most deserving candidates. A young man who lost his father, whose mother earns ₹9,000 a month as a daily wager, is denied EWS because his modest house exceeds the prescribed dimensions by a few inches. There are thousands of such cases & hundreds contact me concerning the same.
Enigma : One region has issued 25,000+ certificates, while the other barely 2,000, while lakhs are issued across the country. Why such glaring disparity? Why is the rulebook rigid here and flexible elsewhere?
The spirit of the law matters as much as its letter. Administration cannot become a mechanical exercise in ticking boxes. Are we to take inspiration from someone like the infamous Nazi officer Eichmann who was blindly following rules ,sending off millions to die in holocaust, while ignoring the human consequences? How can this be normal ? There has to be some emotional quotient & pinch of flexibility shown across the country otherwise it defeats the entire purpose of 103 Amendment which sought to include maximum beneficiaries under the EWS net.

Dear Mujeeb. Revenue department is not the barrier infact it's the legislation, that capped residential house to 1000sqft , which act as major barrier in kashmir.

The old deadwoods, with one leg in the grave and the other outside, are crying for ministerial posts while the future of Kashmiri youth is being bulldozed by the reservation system. Despite repeated assurances, the EWS residential criteria issue remains unresolved.
Expectations : Constitutional safeguards, Reservation policy,
Cost of living, Youth, Unemployment, Horticulture, Energy prices etc.
Priorities : Who will become minister? Who will get how much cavalry? Who will get which portfolio ?
Personal Vested interets come first, people last for these political elite.
To sum up, "Aag lagi basti mein, siyasat daan apne masti mein "
The immediate order of business must be the appointment of a JKPSC Chairman. Aspirants have watched for two months with a headless PSC in literal paralysis, while exams and results, remain pending and the Commission lacks quorum.
Lakhs of aspirants cannot be made to pay the price for administrative inaction . For God’s sake, don’t make them wait any longer.
@OfficeOfLGJandK @CM_JnK
JKPSC cannot be left headless while aspirants watch their years of preparation and their last chance at selection slip away.
The government’s inaction is costing young people their future. Appoint a Chairman immediately and grant age relaxation to those losing their opportunity due to this delay. Aspirants must not be punished for the government’s failure.
It is an issue which we have forcefully raised in the past but sadly unto this day and date there seems to be no headway .But right now, There is no PSC Chairman nor quorum for the past 2 months. This is really disturbing for lakhs of aspirants . Hope this issue is resolved soon !
During the PDP-led government, the JKAS eligibility criteria underwent a significant change. SRO 103 of 2018 reduced the upper age limit for Open Merit candidates to 32 years and restricted the number of attempts to six. Although the government subsequently granted age relaxation through separate orders, a permanent solution to the concerns of aspirants remained elusive.
Jammu and Kashmir has endured decades of conflict, political uncertainty and prolonged disruptions. Its youth deserve understanding, support and a fair opportunity to build their future through public service.
Since 2019, JKAS aspirants have repeatedly sought age relaxation, demanding nothing more than a fair opportunity in accordance with the constitutional principles of equality and equal opportunity in public employment.
For years, successive governments provided temporary relief. However, in 2025, that pattern broke down, and the examination was conducted without the much-awaited age relaxation, leaving many aspirants deeply disappointed.
If the present government genuinely has a soft corner for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, it must go beyond assurances and take concrete action. It should revisit the restrictive eligibility framework introduced in 2018 and restore the upper age limit of 37 years and unlimited attempts on a permanent basis.
The youth of Jammu and Kashmir have already endured enough uncertainty. They deserve a fair chance, not a race against an age limit that fails to account for their extraordinary circumstances. Restoring age eligibility is not merely a demand for relaxation; it is a demand for fairness, dignity and equal opportunity.

So called Damaad Khan finally wakes up after 8 years of mediocrity and bits-and-pieces performances. Maybe being dropped for a few games really does bring clarity.
Now, if only one certain batter feeding off past reputation & mediocrity for 3 years straight got the same reality check. Sometimes a few games on the bench may not hurt. Afterall it's worth rediscovering the HUNGER of playing at the topmost level and not taking things for granted.
Time to give mediocre players a break. 🙂

His is a fraud product from a bogus site, sold as an original one and people have audacity to compare him with virat kohli.
That's the difference between a selfless champion and a selfish statpadder. Brook calls a double hundred worthless in defeat; the other Tuk Tuk statpadder would milk 50 off 70 and feed off cover-drive reels for 3 months.
#ENGvsSL
One innings was enough for Harry Brook to get the full measure of the pitch and go berserk. Babar Azam, after playing decades on these same surfaces, crawls to odd 30 off 50 where England pile up 430 with ease.
Can’t play leg-spin, mystery spin or even off-spin, yet gets compared to King Kohli. Enough with the fraud “King” PR . 4 years is a long long rope. He needs to be shown the door. Back youngsters ,line sadaqat and Farhan. They may have offdays too but on their day they have potential to match flare of Brook.
Any day better than a Stat-padder with a struggling 50 & the only way if you want to compete with the big boys at the WC.

Madam Minister @SakinaItoo ji when will J&K’s reservation issue, the mother & father of all issues for our youth, finally be resolved? Who will resolve it, Govt of Delhi, Bihar or Nagaland or our own?
Must students also sit in parks indefinitely, like our medical interns, before their legitimate demands are heard? We stood shoulder to shoulder with our doctors, and credit is due to them.
Must our youth sacrifice precious time and energy protesting for rights that should not require a protest? If the file exists, who will tell us what is written in it? And if it indeed is satisfactory who will get it cleared ? Is it the students’ responsibility or the chosen government’s?
Please don’t tell us J&K is a new UT. It has been 2 years now almost, What will it take for this government to act to most important issue of them all ?
We stand by the promises we make, and we deliver on our commitments. This significant enhancement in the stipend of medical (MBBS & BDS) interns reflects our belief that the government is of the people, by the people and for the people. Grateful to Hon’ble Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah @CM_JnK for this important decision that recognises the dedication of our young medical professionals and strengthens healthcare in J&K.
Huge Congratulations to our interns . Your struggle and all those candle light marches have paid off.
Resilience always triumphs ! ✌️

EWS ISSUE: THE SPIRIT OF THE LAW VS THE LETTER OF THE LAW
Should a destitute woman be denied ration simply because she has no ration card or Aadhaar? Such Tragedies have actually occurred where the denial of food over lack of documents contributed to a person’s death. Surely, the purpose of the law cannot be defeated by its mechanical application.
Similarly Hannah Arendt’s "Eichmann in Jerusalem" raises a sobering question about blind obedience to orders without moral judgment. When his trial was held ,Eichman also said he was following rules while giving orders to massacre millions of jews.
Similar brainless officials exist even today. Rules matter, but so do compassion, common sense and the ability to see the human being behind a file.
Why, then, should EWS applicants who fulfil the income and land criteria be denied certificates over rigid residential asset rules, especially when their application appears more flexible elsewhere in the country . The spirit of 103rd CAA was to empower more and more GC people under the net of EWS , it is a great move but why are Revenue officials acting as barriers in access to such beneifts?
PS : Deleting the previous tweet because personal allegations were invoked and privacy of people was breached, which was uncalled for. This is a debate about fairness, not favour. I’ll make a video explaining this. It is basic, but it needs to be brought into the public domain since it affects thousands of young candidates in J&K.
A big congratulations to our intern doctor fraternity. Your determination has shown that persistence pays.
May our reservation brigade take a leaf from your struggle even though the magnitude of our issue is vastly bigger. But If collective resolve can settle the stipend issue, it can surely bring justice to the mother of all issues in J&K. The govt must act, not look away. Plz Don't force hardworking aspirants to sit in parks before eventually conceding. Have some empathy & resolve this issue decisively, here and now.
On request of young doctor interns from GMC ,stood in solidarity with them. Assured them to stand with them like the "Rock of Gibraltar" till the issue is justly resolved .

It has been over a month since the JKPSC has been rendered virtually defunct. Mind you , this is Jammu & Kashmir’s premier constitutional body, not an ordinary office that can be allowed to remain paralysed for months.
Thousands of aspirants are paying the price, with recruitment processes stalled, fresh advertisements awaited and crucial results, including Mains results, pending.
The Hon'ble LG must intervene and appoint a competent Chairman without further delay. If suitable officers are available today, why should thousands of young aspirants wait for someone’s tenure to end before the process even begins? And if you are so inclined to appoint them, that's fine, but why not retire them prematurely and appoint them immediately.
Administrative urgency must apply to recruitment and public institutions too. Aspirants have waited long enough already and thousands are getting overaged everyday thus loosing eligibility.
Kindly Appoint the JKPSC Chairman, controller & other members immediately,so that it comes out of the paralysis !

PS: Thank you for raising this all important matter affecting thousands of careers, @ahmedalifayyaz sb.
VIRTUALLY DEFUNCT J&K PSC GETTING CHAIRMAN AND THREE MEMBERS
Responding to an undercurrent of unrest among thousands of gazetted job aspirants, Government of Jammu and Kashmir having Lieutenant Governor as the competent authority is reportedly finalising the appointment of Chairman and three members for the virtually defunct Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.
J&K PSC has sanctioned strength of nine including the Chairman and eight members. Chairman AK Choudhary (IPS), who was appointed in February 2024, completed his term on August 15, 2026. Out of 8 members, 6 have retired and only 2 are in place but they cannot hold any business in absence of the Chairman.
According to official sources, more than 2,000 gazetted vacancies of different indenting departments are in different selection processes. They include over 1,000 posts of Assistant Professors and Lecturers in J&K's Higher Education and School Education Departments which are facing a huge human resource crunch as the system is currently functioning on hundreds of temporarily engaged teachers.
According to official sources, names of 2-3 IAS/IPS officers including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and an IPS officer on Central deputation are under consideration of the competent authority for filling up the vacancy of Chairman while the three members could be picked up from IAS, IPS, JKAS and other services including from academia.
When the high and mighty apply for EWS they invariably get it easily often by bribing these corrupt revenue officials esp Patwaris .
Turns out , It becomes a herculean task only for poor and the common . Rest are just lame excuses & a poor translation !
MORAL OF THE SAGA
Junior KAS officers ,BDOs & clerks, often treated as disposable by their own seniors, must remember who actually stands by them.
Yesterday’s public outrage may well have saved an officer’s career, in the absence of which she might have been dumped into some punishment posting that too only after a gruelling suspension.
From Tehsildar to Patwari, stop treating EWS certificates and welfare benefits as your ancestral property. Don’t force the people from pillar to post by overwhelming them in procedural details , just to satisfy your petty egos.
Never forget:
Power flows from the people. A public servant serves the people, never rules over them. When the people abandon you, remember, nobody will come to your rescue.
Act with prudence.
I hope now our JKAS officers will treat Kashmir and its people with dignity, sensitivity and 😀. The way people stand up for an officer should be reflected in how officers serve the people.
JKAS officers must ensure that citizens are heard, treated respectfully, and that legitimate legal and administrative work is completed on priority.
Be Namak Halal, not Namak Haram—serve the people with integrity, responsibility, and honesty.
The irony is hard to miss. Who is the JKPSC Chairman?
For over a month, J&K’s premier constitutional recruitment body has been defunct without a head, while thousands of aspirants inch towards overage and lose eligibility with each passing day.
Recruitments delayed, results pending , it's an avoidable mess.
That too amidst all the Hundreds of transfers and postings in recent few days, the all important posting remains pending for mysterious reasons. And the cost of this administrative paralysis is being paid by our youth.
If you can, kindly raise this as vehemently as possible :
ENOUGH DELAY, APPOINT THE PSC CHAIRMAN NOW !
