For anyone who wants to keep track, James Talarico indeed looks like he's about to win Texas by nearly 8 points against Ken Paxton. Hinojosa probably wins by ~4. Our forecast on TX-SEN was LIKELY DEMOCRATIC — one of the only models to say it — and even we undershot him.

You can build a model, give it every living piece of numerical information you can find (partisanship, spending, outside money, raw polling microdata, etc) and backtest the hell out of it, and it gives you...this. So! We'll see what happens! But this is what the numbers say.

One, you're assuming the Senate still has 100 seats going forward, which may not be the case if Democrats get their way. Two, my point is that a lot of other irrevocable damage can be done to the Senate & the constitutional system before then.
