i'll say it. this is the most braindead direction in AI right now
the tech is insane, yes. it sounds human, it laughs, it stops mid sentence, it drops the “uuhh”
that's EXACTLY what's wrong with it
we spent decades making computers fast and precise and now we're paying billions to make them hesitate like a nervous dude
when i talk to a model i want answers AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE. i don't want a fake friend that talks over me
if you want a human experience go talk to a REAL human with REAL emotions. touch grass bro please
and honestly if you're so lonely that you need a machine to fake pauses and laughs for you, that's not a product problem, that's a you problem
this app is cooking people's brains and this is the proof
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

I DM'ed 10 people on X about jobs they referenced with "DMs open" at the end and none got back to me. Lol. Is "DMs open" just an engagement tactic now?
This is so incredibly cool. Can't wait to use it in my next project.

Don’t get too worked up. The vast majority of these vulns are not exploitable or if exploited wouldn’t cause any harm.
Most of the AI driven vuln discoveries are background noise that is only interesting becuase it create the volume you see in the graph, and panic from those who don’t understand it.
I explained this in a series of videos about Mythos just after it was released.

Feels a little like AI psychosis…
We protect over 5 million PHP sites and when we find a major exploitable vulnerability, we always see site cleanings. We have seen exactly zero hacked sites from php2shell. Zero. Across a population of 5 million PHP sites that our product protects. Draw your own conclusions. #php2shell

Some good news on the PHP front: various WAF and content distribution network providers have chimed in, reporting millions of attempts to exploit exposed servers worldwide, but none successful so far. In fact, exploit attempts seem to have started days before the vulnerabilities were disclosed and ramped up through the hours before and after.
This reiterates several points I made in videos I posted after the Mythos hype from earlier this year: discovering a vulnerability, even an exploitable vulnerability, does not mean you can compromise a vulnerable target to any measurable impact.
Time will tell, but the indications are again that this had more potential than actual impact.
But the narrative will probably win the day anyway.

People who cured / are curing their own cancer on X:
1/ @sytses - bone cancer, billionaire founder of Gitlab, developed 10+ personalized therapies for himself.
2/ @paul_conyngham - shrank his dog Rosie's mast cell cancer tumors after chemo and surgery weren't enough. Now backed by YC and Founders Fund
3/ @miriamgonp - stage 4 breast cancer, tumor sequenced, searching for vaccine manufacturer now
4/ @kevinace - stage 4 lung cancer, angel investor in 300+ companies, first drug stopped working after 18 months. Vaccine designed, now paying $300k out of pocket for the vaccine
5/ @masonbgrant: going founder mode on his his 32-year-old wife's rare liver cancer, sequencing her tumor with AI agents
6/ @ArunRLverma: former product leader at Atoms and Shopify, brain tumor, built a vaccine from his tumor. Now building an AI health agent startup based on what he went through
We're going to make it

X really needs a feature to mitigate the "leave a nasty comment then block you" move. @X @elonmusk can we get improvement in this area? Would help the toxicity a bit.
Some options:
- Someone blocked can respond to any replies or reposts of their posts by the blocker
- Blocking someone hides any replies or posts you've made about them in the last 7 days and eliminates algorithm recommendation of those posts.
There's a famous story from Art & Fear, also repeated in Atomic Habits:
A ceramics teacher split his class in two. One half would be graded on quantity, by the pound of pots they made. The other half on quality: one perfect pot.
The best pots all came from the quantity group.
They made, failed, and learned. The group focused on perfecting one pot didn't learn as much.
Quantity results in quality.
Shouldn't they be firing Gerwig?
Netflix Fires Film Chief Dan Lin Amid Claims Greta Gerwig’s Troubled Narnia Played a Role
“Netflix has fired film chief Dan Lin after just over two years overseeing its movie division, and rumors claim Greta Gerwig’s troubled Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew was a factor in his dismissal.
The development follows reports of disastrous internal screenings of Gerwig’s $280 million fantasy production, creative disagreements between the director and Lin, and growing concerns about the film's quality.”

Yeah she'd probably kill off Aslan, have him shaved to humiliate him and have the witch use his mane as a scarf
