Racial theories of growth fail in the 3 best natural experiments. Korea, Germany, and China were split into 2 states with radically different policies. The economically free states thrived, centrally planned states failed, despite near-identical genetics.
Are some people still confused or ignorant or in denial about why this happened?

Amused by the implication that Australians constitute a species, ie they cannot produce fertile offspring when bred with, say, New Zealanders or Canadians
Australians are becoming an endangered species

There’s an old saying in Petrograd—I know it’s in Simbirsk, probably in Petrograd—that says, There are decades, where........ where nothing happens. And there’s weeks when a lot is going on.

Marcus Rubius appointed proconsul of Venezuela. Gavin Newsom elected President in 2028. Marcus Rubius conquers all of South America. Newsom blocks his return to run for President in 2032. Marcus Rubius leads his legions across the Panama Canal, hereafter known as “the Rubiocon.”
We just need to embrace the Roman tradition of sending your former leaders to govern the provinces after their term

Building more than the anglosphere is miserable company and pathetic when compared with our past homebuilding. If we returned to 60s build rate we'd easily outbuild our pop growth, and get to keep all the benefits of migration.
I give Australia a lot of crap at times, but honestly when it comes to building new homes in large numbers, almost no one does it better. We have been outbuilding the rest of the Anglosphere in per capita terms for 37 straight years. What more do you want?

Ukraine is making military history - one of the most impactful strategic bombing campaigns ever, achieved with zero air superiority!

Russian GDP PPP is probably less than half of Kremlin claims, and shrinking rapidly. 1. Inflation is at least 2.5x official figures 2. Nominal GDP growth is at least 20% overreported
Adjusted Russian real GDP growth, accounting for 2.5x official inflation and 20% nominal overreporting: 2022: -35% 2023: -25% 2024: -28% Q1 2025: -32% Q2 2025: -30% Russia's GDP (PPP) ~5.5T intl. $, NATO sum ~68T intl. $ (IMF est. 2025). Proportion: ~8.1%.

UK is falling. Australia is rising. A leader among nations needs a flag of its own. I like Justin R Smith's. The roo is vital, instantly recognizable, unique. The Southern cross is continuity. The colours distinctive, Australian, wattle leaves and flower.
This is both the worst & the best new flag proposal. It's hideous, still a colonial design, appropriates indigenous imagery... but some people in the 90s thought briefly about what a future Australia should look like & this was their answer... and I do think that's kinda nice 🙂

Aboriginal flag colours look even better IMO.

This is your brain on rightism: billions must die so the UK can be 6% brown instead of 8% brown.

Huge leap for Ukraine's strategic strike capabilities if true. At this low cost and high payload, Flamingo can follow up drone swarms that overwhelm Russian are defence and feast on Russian bridges, factories, refineries.

Can anyone help me understand why people seem to believe Coalition lost the Iraq War? I understand the case to call it illegal, unwise, damaging, strategically unsound, or wasteful, but a loss? They defeated and deposed their enemy.
Objectively, Britain hasn't achieved anything since WWII. No major new cities, no megaprojects, no space program. No population growth (setting aside immigration). We barely won a minor war in 1982 and then bandwagoned into losing two wars with America in the 2000s. We dissolved the Commonwealth, Canada and Australia are basically unrelated to us now and rapidly filling up with foreign immigrants with no connection to The Anglosphere. We are living in the ruins of the civilization the Victorians built.

Chart crime from Matt Canavan? He didn't link the article, possibly so no one would do what I did - used the interactive to check the month of the peak and find it was 2 months *before* Labor was elected - 21/05/22.
Today the RBA is openly blaming Australia's poor productivity for our interest rates being high and our living standards falling. See if you can spot when productivity started falling in the graph.

If you were saying that without siphoning, "it would be even more down" you would have said that, or "breed more than they would have". You wouldn't have said "breed even more" which means an increase, on the plain meaning of words. Does this look like breeding "even more"?

The obvious reason you didn't say "it would be even more down" is because you had no idea that Indian TFR was down! If you want good outcomes, it helps to base your thinking on facts, not fancies. It's not too late to reevaluate btw! It'd be the honest thing to do.

@meh8hei I made it nice and big for you. Does this look like a population that we've allowed to "breed even more"?

Moderate running is good for your joints! Recreational runners have lower rates of hip/knee arthritis (3.5%) than gen pop (10.2%). Only elites overdo it (13.3%). Well-planned progressive load on heart, lungs, muscle, bone, joint, tendon makes you stronger, less morbid/mortal
We should ban running for putting a burden on the health system

Many people seem highly motivated to pretend that intelligence is a curse. They want to believe in a just world, where IQ points come at cost of other skills, RPG style. This is plainly false. Intelligence is associated with nearly all other positive traits+outcomes.
having an iq over 130 is a guarantee for struggling in life, depression and battling with addiction

Huge wealth may seem wrong. But clamping down on property rights, wealth, and economic activity makes you miserably poor. It just fails as policy. Check the productivity and growth of the top 10 economically freest countries vs bottom 10.
Lmao, what's wrong with simply believing in a tax system that wouldn't allow so much wealth accumulation

We must stop taxing productive work to churn money into wasteful payments. End pensions for rich homeowners, use $20bn saved to end stamp duty. Easier to downsize, inventive to rent out rooms. Atrocious we pay the rich to keep millions of bedrooms empty in a housing crisis.
Do we need to be providing taxpayer funded welfare to those that are top quartile wealthy based on their total assets held? If so, why?
