Reporter: "Senator Hyde-Smith all but declared victory last night. I want to get your response."
Colom: "Bless her heart."
Fascinating, and great receipts on how progs and people who have never been legislators before face a big learning curve in Congress, but can come out of it wiser and more reality-based. Good for her.

This would be a crazy and toxic thing for the GOP to do, and if they did it, it would only radicalize and incentivize cautious centrist Senate Dems to expand the court in 2029 under a Dem president.
This is all great, and he will be great, but it kind of demonstrates he’s never had to be a legislator before. The reason you get big bills FBOW is they let you cut deals even in a zero trust environment like the one created by toxic turtle Mitch.
El-Sayed: "The first 3 things we have to do is end this war -- we need a war powers resolution that brings war-making capacity back to Congress -- number 2, ending this tariff regime & war against Canada, but number 3, stopping the nuclear bomb that's about to go off in our healthcare system with Medicaid cuts"

It's over, Scott Colom will become the first elected African American - Senator from Mississippi since Hiram Rhodes Revels, who was the first African American to serve in either house of the U.S. Congress.

Looking pretty likely this is going to happen for him unless there's some unknown source of Hyde-Smith votes. Mississippi doesn't have automatic recounts either, although they usually wouldn't flip a 1,138-vote margin anyway.
Per the Mississippi Free Press, Democrat Scott Colom leads incumbent Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith by 1,138 votes, up from 65, with 96% counted. Votes remain in Democratic-leaning Hinds County and thousands of affidavit ballots.
>95% Reported
🔵 Scott Colom – 464,926 (49.0%)
🔴 Cindy Hyde-Smith – 463,788 (48.9%)

California elected the Chesa Boudin of home insurance amid a wildfire crisis. The system was starting to stabilize in the last two years of Lara’s term, but now it might blow up again.
Unconstitutional now? Maybe? Doesn’t matter.
Make Republicans deliver speeches against it.
Make Trump veto it.
Make the Supreme Court strike it down.
Now it’s your campaign ad, your evidence at impeachment trials, your opening argument for a constitutional amendment.

lol every year all the “experts” get on Twitter to analyze SF results the day after Election Day, but even after today’s results drop, less than half the ballots are counted. Save it for the weekend at least.

I just learned yesterday that the fund created by the small business healthcare mandate (that you have seen in restaurant bills for almost 20 years):
- has almost no claims
- except when used for fraud
- has accumulated $1B since 2008
- has earned zero interest
Half of San Francisco thinks the government that created this should run a bank.

Let’s check in on whether anyone is going to be able to get insurance next year….
According to early results, former San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim holds a lead over state Sen. Ben Allen in the race for California insurance commissioner. sfstandard.com/2026/11/03/el…
Sachin is right in his tone here. SF is like 35% counted. Enjoy the good start but there are going ng to be a few swings in the next couple of days.
Early results in SF are looking strong, but still a lot of ballots to count. Scott Wiener leads Connie Chan by 15 points. Theo Ellington is ahead in D10. Our Board of Education and City College candidates are winning, and all our ballot propositions are going our way.
Still a lot of votes to count, but SF is on track for even more progress.
