Pisarz i poszukiwacz talentów Brian Lord odkrył tzw. "rider" (listę wymagań) do kontraktu Robina. Nazywał go swoją osobistą formą medytacji w ruchu. Kiedy obowiązki zawodowe, nieustanny pośpiech i presja związana z życiem w Hollywood zaczynały go przytłaczać, zakładał kask, wsiadał na jeden ze swoich rowerów i ruszał przed siebie. Najchętniej wybierał kręte drogi i strome podjazdy w okolicach swojego domu w Kalifornii. Uwielbiał zaglądać do niewielkich sklepów i warsztatów rowerowych. Do licytacji przystąpili fani aktora, kolekcjonerzy i miłośnicy kolarstwa z różnych zakątków świata. Organizacja nosi imię Christophera Reeve’a, słynnego odtwórcy roli Supermana i wieloletniego, bliskiego przyjaciela Robina Williamsa.

I have been holding my tongue about something that happened during the Ohio gubernatorial race. I refused to speak while the election was underway because I did not want my words mistaken for an attempt to influence anyone’s vote. But now that the election is over, I have something to say. For nearly twenty years, my ministry has taken me among the homeless, the abused, the exploited, and the forgotten. I have sat with victims of sexual violence and witnessed the lifelong wounds of childhood trauma. What Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign did to Amy Acton was among the most morally repulsive things I have witnessed in American politics. They took a woman whose stepfather was indicted for raping her when she was twelve years old and featured her mother, from whom she had been estranged for nearly fifty years, in a political advertisement attacking her credibility. The advertisement challenged Acton’s account of her childhood without mentioning the sexual abuse allegations or the circumstances of that estrangement. When people expressed their horror, the campaign defended it. Imagine examining another person’s childhood suffering and fractured family relationships, then deciding those wounds might help win an election. Anyone who has worked with survivors of childhood sexual abuse understands the painful realities of denial, betrayal, shame, and estrangement. A child growing into a successful adult does not erase what happened. Nor does a parent’s denial make that suffering disappear. I find it equally disturbing that an elderly mother, whom Acton herself described as unwell, was brought into this spectacle. Whatever her own struggles or responsibility for the past, exploiting that fractured relationship was grotesque. To everyone who defended this, consider the message you sent to survivors. To the young woman whose family refuses to believe her. To the man who has carried the shame of childhood abuse for forty years. To the frightened child who has yet to tell anyone. What did you teach them about the value of their suffering? I am a priest. I believe in repentance, forgiveness, and redemption. But none of those things requires me to pretend that deliberate cruelty is anything less than a grave moral failure. Your political allegiance does not absolve you of moral responsibility. You do not get to set aside your conscience during an election and retrieve it afterward. If your loyalty requires you to defend the exploitation of a childhood sexual abuse survivor, your loyalty has become an idol. And if your conscience cannot recognize the wrong here, examine what political tribalism has done to it. This is not about Republicans or Democrats. We have a choice as a people: continue excusing cruelty from our preferred political camp, or summon the courage to condemn it wherever it appears. Amy Acton deserved better. Every survivor who watched this unfold deserved better. And God help us if we have reached the point where winning an election matters more than protecting the dignity of a wounded human being.

In 1985 a doctor treating a young girl named Ariel Glaser asked a question that would uncover a family tragedy: Had she ever received a blood transfusion? Her mother said no. The one who had received blood was her. Four years earlier, in August 1981, Elizabeth Glaser had suffered a severe hemorrhage while giving birth to Ariel in Los Angeles. Doctors saved her life with multiple transfusions, but the blood she received was contaminated with HIV. At the time the virus had not yet been identified, and blood donations were not tested for it. Elizabeth went home with her daughter and began breastfeeding. No one knew she was infected. In 1984 the couple’s second child, Jake, was born, and the family continued living without any suspicion of what had happened. Elizabeth’s husband was Paul Michael Glaser, the actor known worldwide as Detective Starsky on Starsky & Hutch. The truth surfaced only when Ariel became seriously ill. Tests confirmed that Elizabeth and both children had HIV. Ariel had contracted it through breast milk; Jake had been infected during pregnancy. Paul tested negative. The diagnosis was only the beginning. In the mid-1980s, AIDS research focused mainly on adults. Infected children had far fewer treatment options, and available drugs were only beginning to be studied for pediatric use. Elizabeth sought out doctors, contacted researchers, and began pushing for children to be included in scientific efforts against the disease. AZT was approved for adults in 1987, but getting suitable treatments for children remained extremely difficult. Ariel’s condition worsened. Elizabeth met with U.S. government officials and medical specialists to demand more research and better access to experimental drugs for pediatric patients. On August 12, 1988, Ariel died of AIDS-related complications. She had just turned seven. That same year Elizabeth, together with her friends Susie Zeegen and Susan DeLaurentis, founded the Pediatric AIDS Foundation to fund research on pediatric HIV and promote treatments for affected children. The organization also supported studies aimed at preventing mother-to-child transmission. Elizabeth continued the work as her own health declined. She died on December 3, 1994, at the age of 47. The foundation later took her name and expanded its programs to many countries. Her son Jake survived. Thanks to medical advances he has lived into adulthood with HIV and has taken part in the work of the organization his mother created. One detail remains on the emblem of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation: a garden filled with flowers, hearts, and a sun. Ariel drew it in 1988, the year she died.

Saint Carlo Acutis: The Millennial Saint Who Loved Jesus in the Eucharist “Always to be united to Jesus: that is my life plan.” - Saint Carlo Acutis Carlo Acutis was born on May 3, 1991, in London, England, to Italian parents, and he grew up in Milan, Italy. From a young age, Carlo showed an extraordinary love for God, especially for the Holy Eucharist. Although his family was not deeply religious at first, Carlo’s love for Jesus inspired his parents to grow closer to the Catholic faith. At just 7 years old, he received his First Holy Communion, earlier than usual because of his remarkable spiritual maturity. After receiving the Eucharist, Carlo developed a powerful devotion: “The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” He attended daily Mass whenever possible, prayed the Rosary, loved Eucharistic adoration, and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He often said that the more people receive Jesus in the Eucharist, the more they become like saints. A Teenager Who Used Technology for God Carlo was not a typical teenager. He loved computers, video games, animals, and sports. He was skilled in programming and used his talents to serve the Church. One of his greatest projects was creating a website that documented Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He researched and catalogued these miracles so that people could learn about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Carlo believed technology was not something to escape from, but something that could be used to spread the Gospel. His Love for the Poor and Forgotten Despite coming from a comfortable family, Carlo never became attached to material things. He used his allowance to help people in need, especially the homeless and poor. His friends remembered him as joyful, humble, and kind. He defended classmates who were bullied and reached out to those who felt lonely. A Short Life Offered to God In October 2006, Carlo became seriously ill. He was diagnosed with acute leukemia, a disease that progressed rapidly. He accepted his suffering with great faith, offering his pain for the Church and for Pope Benedict XVI. Before his death, Carlo said: “I am happy to die because I have lived my life without wasting a minute of it on anything unpleasing to God.” Carlo Acutis died on October 12, 2006, at only 15 years old. He was buried in Assisi, the city of his beloved saint, St. Francis of Assisi. The First Millennial Saint Carlo’s life continued to inspire millions. The Church recognized his holiness, and he was beatified on October 10, 2020. He was later canonized as a saint of the Catholic Church on September 7, 2025, becoming known as the first canonized saint of the millennial generation. Saint Carlo Acutis reminds the modern world that holiness is not only for monks, priests, or people who lived centuries ago. A teenager with a computer, a love for the Eucharist, and a heart for others can become a saint. His message to our generation is simple: Put God first. Love Jesus in the Eucharist. Use your gifts for the glory of God. And do not waste your life chasing things that cannot satisfy the soul. Saint Carlo Acutis, pray for us. 🙏

Bill Russell took one dribble from half court and jumped over the defender.. Let that sink in for a second.. A 6'10" center moving like that in the 1960s was almost unimaginable.. His defense gets most of the attention, but his athleticism was just as remarkable. 🤯

“I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone. Every day, older patients call us confused. They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link. Some of them do not know what a portal is. Some do not have a smartphone. Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing. Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results. He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.” He sounded ashamed. That broke my heart. He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being. Technology can be helpful. I understand that. But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far. Not everything needs to be an app. Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen. Sometimes people need a voice. A patient person. A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.” Progress should not leave seniors behind. Because one day, the world will move faster than us too. And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down. ~Unknown

Before leaving the door of your house, make the Sign of the cross, and say: "I renounce you satan, your works and your service, and I am in Christ". Never leave the house without these words. These will be for you a rod, a weapon an irresistible tower. Not only will people not be able to harm you, but not even the devil... St. John Chrysostom

St. Rita of Cascia is known as the patron saint of those suffering from chronic illness, difficult marriages, and seemingly impossible causes. Her life was marked by deep faith, patience, and perseverance through suffering, which is why many turn to her in times of long-term pain or hopeless situations. Devotees often pray to her for strength to endure, healing of body and spirit, and trust when answers seem delayed. St. Rita’s symbol—the rose—represents hope blossoming even in the harshest conditions. She reminds us that no cause is beyond God’s mercy and that perseverance in faith can bring quiet miracles. PRAYER TO ST. RITA FOR SPECIAL NEEDS AND IMPOSSIBLE CASES O Holy Patroness of those in need, St. Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistible, who for thy lavishness in granting favors hast been called the Advocate of the HOPELESS and even of the IMPOSSIBLE; St. Rita, so humble, so pure, so mortified, so patient and of such compassionate love for the Crucified Jesus that thou couldst obtain from Him whatsoever thou askest, on account of which all confidently have recourse to thee, expecting, if not always relief, at least comfort; be propitious to our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy suppliant; be lavish to us, as thou hast been in so many wonderful cases, for the greater glory of God, for the spreading of thine own devotion, and for the consolation of those who trust in thee. We promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify thee by making known thy favor, to bless and sing thy praises forever. Relying then upon thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we pray thee grant that.. (here mention your request) By the singular merits of thy childhood, obtain for us our request. By thy perfect union with the Divine Will, obtain for us our request. By thy heroic sufferings during thy married life, obtain for us our request. By the consolation thou didst experience at the conversion of thy husband, obtain for us our request. By the sacrifice of thy children rather than see them grievously offend God, obtain for us our request. By the severe penances and trice daily scourgings, obtain for us our request. By the suffering caused by the wound thou didst receive from the thorn of thy Crucified Savior, obtain for us our request. By the divine love which consumed thy heart, obtain for us our request. By that remarkable devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, on which alone thou dost exist for four years, obtain for us our request. By the happiness with which thou didst part from thy trials to join thy Divine Spouse, obtain for us our request. By the perfect example you gavest to people of every state of life, obtain for us our request. Pray for us, O holy St. Rita, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: O God, Who in Thine infinite tenderness hast vouchsafed to regard the prayer of Thy servant, Blessed Rita, and dost grant to her supplication that which is impossible to human foresight, skill and efforts, in reward of her compassionate love and firm reliance on Thy promise, have pity on our adversity and succor us in our calamities, that the unbeliever may know Thou art the recompense of the humble, the defense of the helpless, and the strength of those who trust in Thee, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

ST. PADRE PIO ON HOW TO ATTEND MASS Before Padre Pio offered the unconsecrated host on his Paten, he would run his fingers around the host to make sure there were no loose particles. On July 25, 1915, Padre Pio wrote a letter to Anita Rodote on how to properly attend the Holy Mass: The Divine Master calls the church the house of prayer. In order to avoid irreverence and imperfections I exhort you in the Lord to: ▪︎Enter the church in silence and with great respect. ▪︎Take the holy water and make the sign of the cross carefully and slowly. ▪︎Before God in the Blessed Sacrament genuflect devoutly. ▪︎At your pace, kneel down and render to Jesus the tribute of you presence. ▪︎Confide to him all your needs, and those of others. ▪︎Speak to him with filial abandonment. ▪︎Be very composed when standing up, kneeling down, and sitting. ▪︎Carry out every religious act with the greatest devotion. ▪︎Be modest in your glance. ▪︎Don't turn you head here and there to see who enters and leaves. ▪︎Don't laugh. ▪︎Don't speak to anybody, except when requested for charity or other strict necessity. ▪︎Say the words distinctly, observe the pauses, and never hurry. ▪︎Behave in such a way that all the presents are edified by you. ▪︎Don't leave without asking Jesus for his blessing, and forgiveness for your shortcomings. ▪︎Leave the church recollected and calm. Prayer to St. Thérèse for Help With a Difficult Situation Saint Thérèse, in your life you trusted God through trials, disappointments, and moments of uncertainty. Today I come to you with a difficult situation that weighs heavily on my heart. You know the worry, the fear, and the questions I carry. You know the burden I cannot seem to set down. Please pray for me before Our Lord. Ask Him to give me wisdom where I am confused, strength where I am weak, and peace where I am troubled. Help me to trust that God is working even when I cannot see the way forward. When I feel discouraged, remind me that I am never alone. When I am tempted to give up, help me place my hope in Him once again. Saint Thérèse, obtain for me the grace to endure this trial with faith, courage, and confidence in God's loving care. May this difficult situation become an opportunity to draw closer to Him and to witness His mercy in my life. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. 🌹 Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, pray for us.
