This is heartbreaking. The @CMOTamilnadu should really look into this and bring an end to it. Taking away a baby elephant from its mother is most inhumane thing and I don't think our Santana dharma really preaches this. Pls stop this. You dont need blessings from an elephant that has been forcibly taken away from its mother. @himantabiswa - you keep tweeting about saving animals. Strongly request you to stop this as it is against our core dharma
How are sentient beings being given as gifts? What is the reality behind it? 💔 Madras High court lifted the blanket ban on temples and private individuals from acquiring elephants on 2nd September, 2026 and almost immediately, five young elephants from Assam (Durga, Shiva, Hiralal, Rupsing and Bijuri) were cleared off to go to Tamil Nadu temples for a life of captivity away from their families. Mind you, the same bench which allowed temple captivity, didn't allow the very old elephant Abhayambigai to retire from the Shri Mayuranathaswamy Temple, Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu, where she has been captive at for more than half a century! Everyone saw the video of distressed baby elephant Durga in chains at Meenakshi Amman Temple. Did you hear the cries of her mother when she was taken late at night from Manas national park? Elephants are reportedly being sold to temples in Tamil Nadu under the guise of “gifts/donations”, because trading elephants is illegal in India. Private owners are allegedly convinced to “donate” them, with paperwork stating they can no longer maintain the elephants. Is the Assam Forest Department doing proper due diligence — or is there more to this racket? Baby elephants being brought to TN temples have not happened in the past 10 years. Now 5-year-old Durga has arrived, and 4 more baby elephants are reportedly on their way. According to sources, these baby elephants are worth close to Rs 1 Crore in the black market. Have we lost all humanity? Do sentient beings deserve a lifetime of chains, concrete and captivity in the name of "tradition" and "money making"? All this cruelty to these elephants have been made possible by the Wild Life (Protection) Amendment Act, 2022 introduced by the BJP led union govt which inserted a new proviso under Section 43(2). It legally permitted the transfer or transport of captive elephants for "religious or any other purpose". We urge the @CMOTamilnadu, Madras High court, @tnforestdept and @CMOfficeAssam to show mercy on these young elephants! The old ones are still suffering in Tamil Nadu temples and a fresh batch of young elephants are being condemned to a torturous fate 💔 #SaveDurga #NoElephantsInTemples #EndElephantCaptivity #SaveAssamElephants

Look which cities are topping the AQI index these days
Since a Week American and Canadian Cities are topping the AQI charts of the world. Where is the outrage? Is it only for growing economies?

It's a paradoxical time! The sheer no of container ships are plenty but the routes are guarded and off bound which is raising the cost of all materials. The next 1.5 yrs is going to be volatile given the way these war scenarios are being tackled by countries.
Container freight rates will skyrocket. A container which used to cost USD 1000 to Saudi is now USD 10,000 Importers costs are jumping. Goods will be short in the market An example from our shopfloor: Clip fan, if fully Made in China loads 20,000 pcs / container. Same fan only components loads 200,000 pcs / container. Rest we Make in India. Countless appliances are still sitting on the wrong side of the ocean. Protect your bottom line. Indianise.🇮🇳

Bought a vacation home in my favourite state Goa. And now I travel to Goa to do jhadoo phochha, run after technicians, electricians, WiFi provider, because every time we visit our apartment, there’s a bunch of new things that need to be fixed.

The rapid advances that the world is making in curing diseases and in regenerative tissues and cartridge is so heartening. The people suffering truly get a new lease of life and quality life in that. Kudos to the entrepreneurs, engineers and medical fraternity for coming together to solve such tough problems plaguing us.

This study just confirms what we all felt intrinsically. Brain exercising reduces significantly with use of AI for all creative work. We will need to draw our own boundaries of using AI for mundane tasks vis-à-vis creative ones thereby improving productivity and yet keeping brand activity strong!
An MIT Media Lab study used EEG to track what happens in the brain when people write with ChatGPT rather than on their own. Fifty four students completed essay tasks while wearing electrode caps. One group used ChatGPT, one used a search engine, and one used no tools. Across sessions, the ChatGPT group showed the weakest neural connectivity in networks linked to memory, attention, and analytical work. They also had more trouble recalling what they had just written and produced more generic prose. The authors describe this as a kind of cognitive debt: the tool does the synthesizing, and the brain stays quieter [1]. The same experiment points to a better order of use. Students who first wrote unaided and only later switched to ChatGPT showed stronger recall and more widespread brain activity than students who started with the model and then had to work alone. In other words, the model helped more when it scaffolded thinking that was already underway than when it replaced that thinking from the start. The practical lesson is not that large language models should be banned. It is that they work best as a second pass, after the writer has already done the hard part of forming and remembering an argument [1]. [Kosmyna, N., Hauptmann, E., Yuan, Y. T., Situ, J., Liao, X. H., Beresnitzky, A. V., Braunstein, I., & Maes, P. (2025). Your Brain on ChatGPT: Accumulation of Cognitive Debt when Using an AI Assistant for Essay Writing Task. arXiv. Even if you leave aside the judiciary for a bit, we as people get worked up with these details only on social media. I just returned from Lonavala and some of those restaurants named earlier with rotten food with worms were all running house full. Even to the extent that they had to ward off cars as there was no capacity. Clearly, there is a lot of ppl out there who simply don't care about it as it would 'spoil their weekend'.
Five eateries seems to have offered bhog to Milords 😂🤣 Judiciary has power to fix this country but does nothing when so much of taxpayers wealth is looted in open sight at various stages of governance & beurucracy . Whole society is going on the path of Monery before everything else thru illegal means I hope one day Judiciary gets person like Tukaram Mundhe to take suo moto cognizance of rot in system & fix it

Your team has finally landed and are carrying out the work. Appreciate the pressure you guys have on ZipCare. However, I would still like an extension of 6 months on both my ACs and also a permanent solution from next quarter onwards. We both don't want to start this kind of tweet chain again

For us, the Gen-PI (Post-Independence) generation, it’s surreal to witness this positive change in India 🇮🇳. By 1990 we had given up hope. We may not have too many years left to see 2027, 2037 or 2047 - the Vikshit Bharat, but we are fortunate to see this beginning. BMKJ
This is a massive achievement, something that most of us from Gen X has given up on that it will ever happen. It's so heartening so see the steps Modi govt has taken in renewable energy generation, storage, transmission (still some work pending here) and distribution (smart meter will do wonders here).

People who are buying these should be aware of what you are giving up for it! We fight tooth and nail with our resp govts (and we should) to protect our privacy and then wither it away for such petty items. #Meta #PrivacyMatters
Meta sold 7 million pairs of Ray-Ban smart glasses in 2025 while quietly stripping US users of the right to opt out of voice-recording storage without notice. Intimate footage from private homes reviewed by outsourced contractors in Nairobi. When confronted, Meta didn’t fix the pipeline, it cut ties with the contractor while the surveillance model stayed intact. This isn’t a breach. It’s META business model. bbc.com/news/articles/c0q33n…

China pays a huge price in unclean air by refining largest share of metals and minerals. It's literary dirty work that damages the environment and health of the people working there. As a lot of these industries shift to USA and Europe in the coming decade we will see increasing AQI in western world. They will no longer be able to outsource manufacturing and other work which will pollute their water sources and air alike

Another fabulous achievement which till a decade back seemed like dream come true. Not only are PSU banks going to have low NPA but also be leading in giving out loans for infra projects at attractive rates. They will garner higher market share in lending than private banks and diff will be stark in the next 2 financial years
Yes, you’ve read it right. No listed universal bank has even 1% net NPA in June Quarter. And, just nine banks have more than 0.5% net NPAs. A rare milestone for Indian banking industry. Latest #BankersTrust in ⁦@bsindia⁩

I agree… most of the time, the experience after the sale is a completely different story. You pay upfront for peace of mind, and then spend your time chasing the very service you already paid for.
