FORMER LCV BUTALEJA REMANDED! This morning, @AntiGraft_SH in collaboration with @CID1_UG and the @ODPPUGANDA, arraigned Higenyi Micheal Bory, former chairman LCV Butaleja district, before the Chief Magistrate's Court Butaleja on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses. It is alleged that, between 2021 and January 2026,while serving as Chairperson LCV Butaleja District, Higenyi Micheal Bory, during every recruitment exercise obtained money, millions of shillings from several applicants promising to give them jobs under Butaleja district local government, which was not true. He has been remanded until 1st September 2026.

Today is International Women’s Day and of course we get a free day (Public Holiday) to “celebrate”. But what are we celebrating when 5 million of our girls will miss school due to period poverty? They can barely access a product that’s synonymous with womanhood. Some use soil!
