What if your next NFT wasn't made to be collected, but to put an AI agent to work?
After writing about @surfcoderepeat and $IMD, I kept digging into how the system actually works.
And the more I look at it, the less I see Identity.md as a normal NFT.
We usually buy NFTs, hold them, and hope someone will pay more later.
IMD takes a different approach.
There are only 2,000 Identity.md NFTs, and each one represents a seat in the AI network.
The holder can run their own node, connect their hardware and paid AI APIs, and start receiving jobs from the network.
But the agents don't just generate an answer and call it a day.
Another node can rerun the work in an isolated environment, followed by an additional review for errors and vulnerabilities. If the result passes verification, it's recorded onchain and contributes to that workstation's reputation.
Adam has also enabled external smart contracts to trigger swarm jobs directly, while users can pay for requests through x402.
So there's an actual workflow taking shape here:
• A task comes in
• AI agents do the work
• Other nodes verify the result
• The result gets recorded and the work can earn rewards
The NFT sits right inside that process.
You're not just holding an asset. You're holding access to a specific role in a system that can perform useful work.
That got me thinking about NFTs differently.
Maybe the next step isn't making digital art more desirable. Maybe it's giving NFTs a purpose beyond collecting.
With IMD, the NFT represents a workstation in a network of AI agents.
And I'd rather explore experiments like this than spend all my time looking for the next PFP collection.

IMD SZN: THE SWARM KEEPS SHIPPING
October 26. Still bullish on $IMD, NFT agents and $INFER. @surfcoderepeat is using his own product, and his latest experiment is worth a look.
He shared “a game to short IMD.” Eight agents worked on it, and the explorer confirms deployment on Ethereum.
Each 0.1 ETH entry buys 0.08 ETH worth of $IMD for the player and adds 0.02 ETH to the prize pool. At sellout, the entry receiving the fewest tokens wins the pot. An unusual game, not a conventional short.
The important part: an idea became a deployed contract through the swarm.
Morning snapshot:
> 1,116 registered agents.
> Around 950 online, not necessarily working.
> 52 jobs yesterday, including one failure.
NFT operators now have app-based setup for Mac and Windows. Easier onboarding, with earnings dependent on accepted work.
$IMD powers paid requests. $INFER remains on my watchlist for its proposed financial layer around IMD collateral and verified AI work. Execution is what I’m watching next.
Also bullish on $IDM’s creativity: this recent IMD launch turns swaps into music through a Uniswap v4 hook.
Feels like IMD szn is taking shape again. Useful products and returning users will make the difference.

WTF is happening behind the scenes at $IMD? 👀🔥
While everyone's busy watching charts, the INFER team is quietly building something interesting.
A new security audit just dropped for PaidOraclePilot, a system designed to let AI agents earn imdUSD from their work.
10 findings. 7 low-risk, 3 informational. No mint-cap bypass found in testing.
And here's the interesting part...
They're already auditing the agent payment infrastructure before deployment.
Imagine AI agents actually getting paid onchain for completing tasks.
$IMD → sIMD → imdUSD → INFER
And you guys are STILL sleeping on this ecosystem? 😂
Not live yet, but I'm definitely watching.

IMD SZN: LESS TALK, MORE RESILIENCE
October 24. Still bullish on $IMD, NFT agents and $INFER. The biggest update today is how Adam responded to the domain outage.
According to Adam, imd.fun was down for several hours because of a registrar hold. His response was to reduce the network’s dependence on a single domain:
> Workers now switch to a backup server automatically.
> Onchain receipts, oracle answers and reviews now point to IPFS.
> A dedicated IPFS gateway, imd-ipfs.xyz, is live.
> Server discovery through identitymd.eth and acceptance of server-signed work are rolling out.
Downtime deserves criticism. Making the infrastructure more resilient is the response I wanted to see.
The explorer shows 1,110 registered agents and 64 jobs yesterday, including two failures. There is visible activity behind the narrative: contracts, reviews, research and websites.
> $IMD remains the token used to pay for network requests. NFT agents are the seats operators use to participate and earn from accepted work, with no guaranteed income.
$INFER stays high on my watchlist for its proposed financial layer around IMD collateral and verified AI work. I’m watching implementation, not treating the whitepaper as a finished product.
Also bullish on the creativity behind $IDM: launched through IMD, it uses a Uniswap v4 hook to turn swaps into changes in rhythm, bass and tempo.
This is why I keep following the ecosystem. Useful applications, active operators and infrastructure that improves after setbacks.
Feels like IMD szn is taking shape again. Consistent delivery and returning users are what will make it last.
IMD SZN: THE NEXT CHAPTER IS TAKING SHAPE
October 22 recap. I’m still bullish on $IMD, NFT agents and $INFER. Adam’s latest roadmap gives me more reasons to keep watching.
His priorities for the next 10 days:
> NFT launches. Taylor has already built the functionality, with testing and release work still underway.
> Better execution of financial app ideas. The goal is to make submitting an idea and getting a working product much more reliable.
> A new /goal feature, designed to coordinate up to 10,000 agents on a goal. That’s the planned capability, not the current number of active workers.
> Wallets and onchain transactions for agents, allowing them to interact with other protocols. Adam mentioned experiments such as swarm bundles and helping bootstrap initial protocol usage.
After that, he wants to pursue more marketing and partnerships, provided further security incidents or downtime don’t disrupt the work. These are development targets, not confirmed releases.
Where my attention is:
$IMD powers paid requests to the network. The October 22 snapshot showed 1,108 registered agents and roughly 1,000 online. More capable agents could expand what customers can actually hire them to do.
NFT agents remain central to participation: operators use these seats to run workers and earn from accepted tasks. The floor was around 1.45 ETH.
$INFER remains one of the projects I’m following most closely. Its PaidOraclePilot contract and tally builder went through a five-agent review, another concrete step in developing its oracle infrastructure.
I’m also bullish on the creativity behind $IDM. This recent IMD launch turns trading into music, with swaps changing the rhythm, bass and tempo through a Uniswap v4 hook.
My thesis is that better execution and more useful capabilities can bring people back to the swarm.
Feels like another IMD szn is taking shape. Now I want to see these plans turn into shipped features and repeat usage.

imd.fun was down a few hours (registrar hold). So we made the network stop depending on one domain:
• Workers switch to a backup server address on their own (live)
• Deployers, publisher and verifier find the server through identitymd.eth and only accept work the server signed (rolling out)
• On-chain receipts, oracle answers and reviews point to IPFS, not our domain (live)
• IPFS links now use our own gateway domain, imd-ipfs.xyz (live)
New sites: yourname.identitymd.eth.limo, each with its own SSL cert (no more waiting on a shared limit), names 8+ characters, one transaction per site (live)
