My colleagues in the medical field currently undergoing their internship at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) have reportedly been owed three months' outstanding salaries.
Imagine showing up at work every day, attending to patients, carrying out your duties and contributing to the healthcare system, yet going home without being paid for three months.
These young professionals have bills to pay, families to support and personal needs to meet. How are they expected to survive under such conditions?
Is this fair? Is this how we treat young healthcare professionals who are working hard to serve humanity?
I sincerely appeal to the management of UPTH, relevant authorities and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene. Please, let these outstanding salaries be paid. These young professionals deserve to be treated with dignity and paid for their hard work.
Please amplify this. Their voices deserve to be heard!
