I haven’t posted here for ages, but I want people to share my wife’s GoFundMe if possible. She has been wonderful in the most important roles in life – as a mother, grandmother and a teacher. Please donate if you can. Thanks

Reinforcing the point that the performance of the team is the most important thing for match-going supporters.

I actually think there’s 3 red cards in this sequence 🤣
- Van De Ven tackle
- deliberate hand ball from Fernandes to stop Palmer going 1 on 1 with the keeper
- Palmer’s attack on Fernandes

I'll forgive everything apart from a lack of fight.
That performance by the team and coach were unacceptable against anyone but even more so against them.
How the manager didn't change anything at half time was baffling.

Palmer sent off, literally first card because of ill discipline, needs to fucking grow up

I think there’s a tipping point coming in the not-too-distant future when match-going fans simply call it a day.
Speaking to a lot of people recently, there’s a growing sense of disconnect between the club and its supporters, particularly after the way fans were treated over the summer.
The feeling is becoming increasingly widespread, and I think the club risks underestimating just how much that relationship is deteriorating.

A little snippet...
Not everyone at Chelsea loves the Penders/Courtois comparisons. Some think it invites unnecessary pressure on their 21yo Belgian. But there is a nice tale connecting the two. Penders’ father, Peter, is friends with Courtois’ old man, Thierry. When Penders was once struggling to find boots that fit properly because his shoe size is so large, Thierry heard about the problem, and made sure he received the perfect pair 🤝

Passed on a spare ticket and worried it could be questioned? Keep your original purchase confirmation. Proof you paid face value and simply passed it on does more to settle the question than any explanation after the fact.

That's it, #CFC win 2-0. Comfortably the best result of Alonso's brief reign so far. Would have been a good victory anyway, but throw in Martinez's injury, a first clean sheet since January and it really is a break from the norm. You can tell the players and Alonso are happy.

🚨🗣 Wayne Rooney wasn't happy with Everton fans booing Emi Martinez:
"Chelsea fans wouldn't have done that if it was there player on the ground"
"That was just disastrous and disturbing, at some point I had to close my ears because that was just too awful to listen to, they should be ashame of what they did out there"

Before we get the predictable raft of disrespectful posts regarding Reece and this latest injury please remember one thing. The person who feels the worst about it is Reece himself.
Have some empathy please.

Spare U23 shed lower Tottenham FV

Good piece worth visiting the links attached in it
Two missing details:
- Cech is a triplet (really) so his skull thickness is thinner than usual
- Jose visited him in hospital and spoke to him in french. When Petr replied in french too, Jose knew he was going to be ok eventually
Today marks 20 years since Petr Cech suffered the head injury that nearly cost him his life.
A piece looking back at that game at Reading and the fallout, with @SJohnsonSport and @stujames75.

An important question for @JohnHealey_MP. Next April
- Full new State Pension will likely rise to £13,040/yr
- Tax-free personal allowance frozen at £12,570/yr
So the full new State Pension would normally attract tax. Yet you've said you'll honour former Chancellor Rachel Reeves' promise that those whose ONLY income is the State Pension won't pay tax.
But will that be a cliff edge?
If someone gets say just £30/yr from a tiny pension from an old job, would they lose that protection and face around £100 in tax for just thirty quid income?
And what about a little savings interest? Even if it's tax-free under the starting rate for savings, would it count as extra income and cost them the tax?
This needs to be thought through when you tell us in the budget.
