Libraries are so important. Where else can I do research in the town archives to discover the terrifying history and origins of the paranormal entity that's been haunting my family in our new house?

Me after watching Talk to Me, Bring Her Back, and Leviticus: I finally understand the horror. Never go to rural Australia.

Finally watched this last night. Really good! Depressing but captivating. More subtle and quiet than I expected. The two leads are incredible. Loved the ending. Not an easy watch but effective queer cinema.

Do you know how annoying you have to be to get me to side with an airBnB landlord
All of these Airbnb conversations remind me of the time a host said not to kill the spiders in every corner of his rental, but wanted us to wash dishes and strip the beds at checkout.🫠

I was called lazy and stupid all my life, but thanks to my recent ADHD diagnosis, I know that isn't true. Actual lazy and stupid people are lazy and stupid for a special reason that goes beyond the happenstances of their neurology. I just don't get anything done or know anything

Maybe one of the greatest things anyone has ever said seconds after completely shattering a glass door
A brand-new employee made a smashing start to her career at a Texas salon, as the glass sliding door she was closing exploded into hundreds of tiny pieces, leaving her client and other employees stunned.

Oh thank goodness Olivia Chow won, now I can enjoy my favourite band, Rush, without remembering Geddy is kind of a reactionary again

Yes, Rush is my favourite band. Yes, I'm terrible. I am a straight white man at the end of the day contrary to popular belief!

I would like to give a shout out to the washrooms at Pacific Centre, basically the only public toilets in all of Vancouver, for always being there

Dune movie trilogy
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

Film culture escaping IMDB's boomer/gen x tyranny and being given a new place for younger people to consolidate around has opened up an entire generation to different kinds of movies and if the cost is being forced to see teenagers posting annoying reviews it's a fair tradeoff
Replying to @staticbluebat
people who are too young to remember a world before letterboxd really don't understand. it's been the most significant positive force for cinephilia of the century. for all its faults, it has completely changed film culture for the better
