Without digging it up on line, why do you imagine the Navy likes shotguns for shipboard security and boarding operations?
Live fire training is critical to keeping the ship safe out at sea and in port.

An Army 3 star failing a polygraph 3 times makes any rebuttal to this article an exercise in futility.
An active-duty infantry lieutenant colonel says the officer corps' inability to tell the truth is the biggest threat to readiness. The Army War College found the same in 2015: 'filling a box on a slide.' #Army #Readiness

I watched "Three Days Of The Condor" yesterday. It about a low level CIA analyst who accidentally discovers that there is a CIA running within the CIA. Someone should remake it about a lowly intel officer discovering that there is an Army running within the Army at the Pentagon
🚨🚨🚨Exclusive News 🚨🚨🚨
A War Department official tells me exclusive details about the firing of Brett Sylvia
“Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.”
“Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.”
“Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”
Trump should never brief Democrat lawmakers they don't want immediately disclosed to the media.

Some of you know I am a whistleblower. I was a whistleblower due to safety reasons related to my Commanding Officer and former friend trying to take/send broken airplanes flying. I endured the whole gamut of retaliation as a result.
At my Board of Inquiry, I explained why I was there: I tried to keep my former friend from turning himself into a smoking hole, and he took issue with that and engaged in a systematic scheme of retaliation in collusion with his O6 boss and the Admiral.
Several days ago, he was in a General Aviation aircraft as the instructor/evaluator, and he and his student turned themselves into a smoking hole doing stupid things in a Baron that should never have been done at the altitude in question.
I don't know how I feel about this. Please pray for his family and for his immortal soul and the family and immortal soul of his (much older) student.
I hate being right all the time...
I don't think any of this is correct about US submarines, but this account is Chinese. It may be true of Chinese submarines.
在绝对密闭的铁罐子里,哪怕只有一个士兵喷了两下含酒精和人工麝香酯的古龙水,这些挥发性有机化合物(VOCs)根本就排不出去,会在全艇空气中不断循环富集;
I think this says it rather well.

Dear Yankees, if you need another reason to cancel those flights or turn the rental car around before you hit the state line, here it is. 🚨
Our coastlines are no longer safe for your fragile, paper-thin pale skin. What you’re looking at is a scene locals will tell you happens at every tourist beach in Florida once the temperature drops and the northern blood starts circulating. The sharks and gators have developed a very specific taste for it and now actively patrol the shallows looking for feet with Birkenstock tan lines and ankles still carrying the faint scent of airport Starbucks. Here you see two of our most dangerous apex predators actively fighting over the remaining scraps of a fake service poodle while the family from Colorado’s non-binary son films the whole catastrophe hoping he can file a lawsuit against the local wildlife for DEI hate crimes.
Us locals know which beaches are still safe. We also know which ones only look safe until the first person from New Jersey steps in past their knees. No, we will not tell you the difference. Enjoy the shallows. 🐊🦈
Taking troops to the front in thin skinned civilian vans like this is one of the reasons casualties in the Ukraine war are so high.

Remember accusations that Trump was going to try and "steal" the midterm elections? (Pretending to forget they also said there would be no more elections after Trump) Dems just got caught trying to cheat in a Senate race in Alaska.
You know back at the squadron they were saying: "Okay, so you rescued 27 people from certain death in freezing water at great peril to yourself. That was YESTERDAY. What are you going to do today?"
🇺🇸 A 24-year-old Coast Guard swimmer jumped into pitch-black waters and saved 16 lives.
Josh Law was lowered from a helicopter into freezing Pacific waters, about 140 miles off Mexico's coast, after a boat carrying 27 people capsized.
And the conditions were brutal. Waves up to 8 feet high, barely any visibility, and people scattered everywhere, some clinging to wreckage just to stay afloat.
Law was the only rescue swimmer aboard the four-person helicopter crew. The others were busy flying, keeping the helicopter steady and lifting people out of the water.
So for 90 minutes, he swam back and forth, dragging survivors to a rescue basket one by one, even as his own suit filled with water and started weighing him down.
Some survivors had injuries consistent with shark bites, and Law even treated wounded passengers during the flight back.
Sadly, 11 people were never found.
Law admitted he was exhausted, but kept going because he knew the people struggling in the water had it far worse.
An absolute fucking hero.

Peeps talking about war with China.
Here's some math.
China is feeding 1.4 B with $21 trillion in GDP.
US feeds 350 million with $32 trillion in GDP.
In a war economy each commits 25% of GDP to the effort. China=$5.25T. US=$8T.
China pop will begin to starve in 18mo.
US won't.

There is 280 million years of evolution separating us from parrots. That's A LOT of time for their brains to have developed.
They ain't that bright.
The dinosaurs must have been dumb as rocks.
Palmer Luckey tells Joe Rogan an African grey parrot's tiny brain could change how we think about AI
Joe Rogan: Are you familiar with Alex the African grey parrot? African greys are probably the smartest bird, right up there with crows and ravens. They can talk, they can reason.
Palmer Luckey: Alex was a uniquely smart one. African greys are usually not kept in captivity because they're a handful, and they're a handful because they're so intelligent. They need intellectual stimulation, and most people don't have the time. They get depressed and self-harm.
Palmer: Alex had a vocabulary and understood grammar. I think he's the only animal who asked an existential question, right before he died: "What's happening and where am I going?"
Palmer: And he has a tiny bird brain. People who've lost huge chunks of their brain seem to get by. Parrots like Alex suggest you can do a lot with very little brain if it's oriented correctly.
Trainer: What's different? What number is grey?
Alex: Four.
Trainer: Very good. Good boy.
Palmer: That's intelligence on par with a human toddler, with far less brain tissue. Building a thinking system from scratch with AI will help us understand how other systems think. There's never been an economic motive to dig into how the brain fundamentally works. Google's never funded it to the tune of tens of billions. Meta's never funded it to the tune of hundreds of billions.
Nobody paid to understand the brain until there was money in building a copy of it.
