To everyone who's complaining about my characters in rivals 2: Every platform fighter I've played that has patches have consistently nerfed the characters I play so don't worry, buds.

im often misunderstood as "autistic" but thats not the case. similarly "right wing." but i am widely hated by the left nevertheless. i believe the issue is the following. the professional/managerial class is characterized by oversocialization. by this i refer to dennis wrong's notion of former individuals who have so thoroughly adopted approved social norms that they no longer behave independently of those norms nor see them as a tool but uncritically as ends in themselves. famous mathematician kaczynski discusses this at length. "autistic" and "right wing" people are not oversocialized nor even properly socialized. "right wing" people as imagined by the bien pensant are essentially undersocialized and have spent their lives excluded from circles inhabited by the right minded. a "right winger" rejects the prevailing norms in the same way a cradle atheist struggles to relate to the notion of religious belief. "that's retarded," he says. "autistic" people meanwhile are congenitally incapable of the sort of socialization necessary for the oversocialized class. some will desperately attempt to ape it through systematic study but will inevitably stumble in its contradictions and be brutally savaged by the natural adept. i fall into neither category actually. i am quite well socialized and i understand the rules. but they chafe me so. in the same way many are obliged to fall in line with them i find myself compelled to subvert them, to probe their contradictions, and especially to annoy people who insist that i follow them. this is a greater social crime than committed by the "right winger." he is an enemy yes but be reasonable. for him to have a bad opinion was mere misbehavior, tradition, he didn't know any better. and it is a greater crime than committed by the autist who may find the rules annoying but cannot ably operate within them and so is at a disadvantage. james damore was destroyed as an example but i doubt much feeling was behind it. his cancellation struck me as mechanical. μῆνις is reserved for traitors and apostates.

the beauty of twitter was the simcluster, where 90% of the tweets in my feed came from one of the many organic sef-organizing communities i was part of. now it's maybe 20%. i used to daily discover intelligent schizomaniacs, now they are diffuse among the slop

If I have a goal it's only to let sane people know they're not alone and they aren't crazy.

I mean it's called "soft" ware. The fact that nobody is taking it seriously is right there in the name.

The reason farming is subsidized is because if you let the free market handle food prices, it will (accurately!) inform you that ~3-5% of the population are net losses and should starve to death. This tends to result in rioting that destroys your civilization. Just pay the farmer

Surely nintendo had no clue what high level Melee Falco would look like in 2025, but it's insane that they just happened to craft the sickest platform fighting game character of all time back in 2001 LOL

It's great that we have a categorization scheme for pathological personalities, but bundling them with mood disorders and psychotic disorders causes people to draw very poor conclusions about how to manage criminality They're not anywhere near the same kind of thing

something i’ve come to understand as an adult is that every few years something happens that permanently damages the most psychically vulnerable 5% of the population. some of these people become passionately insane about 2-3 of these in a row

In some sense there is a basic information theory thing going on here. If the text of your program is very predictable, it means the program is not doing something interesting, because interestingness == surprise.

Buddy I've been play Runescape for 10 hours a day for 22 years. It's all I think about and I still haven't gotten addicted so I doubt it's happening.

the secret service stuff reminds me of a lesson they drill into your head in avalanche training: you can do a terrible job for a long time and it'll look like you're doing a good job because the base rates for adverse events are pretty low
