Well done!

Runner-up Kevin Wekesa is taking environmental action beyond the rugby pitch.
Through Play Green, the Kenyan Olympian promotes reusable bottles and match-day recycling, has planted over 1,500 trees and brought climate workshops to more than 40 schools.

Si ATI tunasema hauna akili but are these buses not endangering other road users? On that road I can see well behaved drivers, riders and even pedestrians going on with their business, and then one mistake from these guys and we have dead or injured rider, pedestrians and others

If you’re going to threaten people’s careers, at least use Times New Roman...
Let the font match the trauma…
You see…
12…maybe 13 years ago, a high-ranking, exco level official of an organization I worked for sent us a furious email threatening dire consequences if we didn’t dance to his tune.
The official had just assumed office and in typical fashion, was on a muscle flexing mission.
The tone of the email was furious.
Words like mandatory, henceforth, compliance, obligatory, punctuality, deliverables, roles, responsibilities, repercussions, dire consequences and other ego boosters were used.
The high ranking official was probably frothing at the mouth, furiously typing away on the keyboard, quietly thinking to themselves, “this email will make people know who I am.”
As earlier mentioned, the email was furious, it was terse, I think the official was frowning as they typed.
But for all that, the email was written in Comic Sans font…size 15.
Comic Sans…
Ah…

@DCI_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE this is serious impunity. What's the use of Traffic Laws of this is allowed to happen? Route 125 is a disaster.
Something needs to be done.
If @ntsa_kenya can’t tame this madness on our roads, we are really looking for disasters of our own making. Bwana Waziri @davis_chirchir please for the sake of us other careful road users and motorists with their families on roads we deserve protection and safety.

What I'd do differently with this year's surplus.
Decide the rule before the money lands. Split it before it mixes with everything else. Move it before it finds a use, because it will find one.
Every one of those is a decision you make while the account is quiet - not while there's something sitting in it waiting to be allocated.
Options, not a recommendation.

Honoured to be named runner up UN Kenya Person of the Year 2026. This award belongs to everyone who believes in the power of sport to drive climate change action and transform communities. Through Play Green we are proving sport can be a force for lasting change. From over 8,000 fruit trees planted in schools to recycling almost a tonne of PET as Safari 7s, we have only just began. Thank you @UnKenya

THE EASTLEIGH building collapse requires an independent inquiry away from the construction authorities and professional regulatory institutions if we want the truth. Otherwise it is going to be another ugly unending statistic in our long building collapses tragedies.

Not necessarily. On my site, I had the structural engineer on retainer to do inspections at all key stages. This was some idiot who is supposedly a lecturer at JKUAT and Dedan Kimathi.
The imbecile sent his students to do the site checks. It is actually the contractor who flagged this and told me to be there the next time. I was there.
When he found that I had caught him, he started screeching at the site about "errors" and whatever. There were no errors. He demanded that he be hired fulltime to stay on site to check every single day for 300k. So I fired him. He then reported the site to the county with fake allegations. I got him later. Years later the building is in excellent condition.
Listen, this is a very corrupt and mediocre country. There is no magic by which Engineers have escaped the same problems in every other sector.

It is not right to blame the architect and engineer of the collapsed building. Clients take drawings and do construction without the consultants' supervision. That is the problem. Unaambia mtu site inspection ni 25k anaona hio ni simiti kadhaa, they don't call you to inspect.

This was actually done by the National Building Inspectorate after the Huruma building collapse in 2013 and a damning report issued. It is just gathering dust….

We are praying for all those workers trapped in the collapsed building in Eastleigh. The Red Cross is saying they are in communication with them. We hope there will be silver lining to this otherwise sad story.
Understandable.
It always feels better to be the one in control of the two wheels than depending on someone else, especially when you get a boda who thinks he can outsmart everyone.
