The historic re-election of Brazil's President Lula is a victory for BRICS, Palestine, the Brazilian working class, and the Global South. It's also a blow to US imperialism, Israel, Brazilian oligarchs, and dollar hegemony. I explain in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=xPszorpi…

Benjamin Moser, author of Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History, told Rashid Khalidi that his 80-year-old mother, who had all but called him a Hamas member, apologized after reading his book: “I’m ashamed I ever said I was a Zionist.” His book traces Jewish opposition to Zionism over the past century and challenges their exclusion in discussions over Palestine. “No, you don’t get to set the rules anymore. We’re setting the rules now,” Moser said. Khalidi added that he had never seen so many people change their views so rapidly, noting that major publishers are now embracing books on Palestine that would have been virtually unpublishable just three or four years ago.

Brad, ur in Palestine. Pls exercise some humility. Listen more, lecture less. Framing the targeting of soldiers as a “cycle of violence” - rather than resistance 2 apartheid & genocide- while also not demanding US sanctions/arms embargo is asking Palestinians to die politely.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured. I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response. I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image. For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

It continues to grieve me how disconnected from military reality the Ukrainian president, and all his western supporters remain: it doesn’t matter if they have Starlink fully operational or not at all. They will lose the war, because they have effectively no air defense, insufficient men to staff the front lines, insufficient industrial capacity, and insufficient money. That dooms them to losing a war of attrition, because Russia has more than enough of every category. To continue ignore that, is to willfully condemn hundreds of thousands more Ukrainian men to unnecessary deaths. That will be the legacy of this president as well as all the other leaders of the West who have equally backed a suicidal policy for Ukraine.
The most important thing today is that Starlink and Starshield operations have been restored to the speeds we had before the restrictions. The speeds are now where they need to be. The restoration began overnight, and by this morning, speeds were already sufficient. This matters: for our frontline logistics, for defending Ukraine against jet-powered “shaheds.” I thank all Americans and all our partners who took this seriously and truly helped – members of Congress, senators, all the media, the State Department, and the President. Protecting lives matters.

A 21-year-old was abducted from his home in the middle of the night and held for a year without charge. Israel killed a Palestinian hostage—and the media couldn’t care less.

The people in the Biden admin who aided, abetted, and covered up a genocide are changing their tune, probably because they know that their past actions could endanger thier ability to serve in future Dmeocratic administrations given where the base is. nytimes.com/2026/10/23/opini…

The same pattern with every war-mongering propaganda campaign. In this case, Russia is portrayed as an irredeemable evil with whom diplomacy is impossible. Blinken kept repeating that there were no "meaningful" signs of Russian diplomacy. Actual evidence of diplomatic progress -- e.g. the 2022 Istanbul talks -- is memory-holed. Media across the spectrum (including progressive media, sadly) goes along. After years pass and hundreds of thousands are killed in the war that could have been stopped, it finally become permissible to admit the facts:
FT reports that in early 2023 an unofficial channel floated a deal under which Putin agreed to pull Russian forces back to the pre-24 Feb 2022 line in exchange for Ukraine dropping NATO membership and recognising Russian control of Crimea (plus a land corridor). Zelenskyy and Yermak reportedly refused even to discuss territorial concessions, believing they could secure better terms on the battlefield. Mediators say the US also declined to back the channel. Participants later called it a missed chance for a settlement more favourable to Ukraine than what followed. Now, imagine how many lives would be saved, the energy sector would not be in ruins, the economy, democracy would be preserved if the deal happened back then... TERRIBLE, DISGUSTING, INUMAN. ft.com/content/dcb57f30-bbfe…

I hope my elected officials Congressman @sethmoulton @SenWarren @SenMarkey take whatever actions they can to prevent further war crimes by Israel.
B’Tselem urgently calls on governments and international institutions to act now, using all means available under international law, to prevent the forcible displacement of Palestinian civilians, collective punishment and extensive unlawful destruction in Hebron. Israeli leaders are openly declaring their intentions, and actions on the ground have already begun. Following the shooting near Hebron on 23 October, in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz openly announced plans to forcibly displace Palestinian residents and carry out extensive destruction in the area. In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We will apply in the cities the successful offensive model we implemented in the refugee camps.” That same model has already displaced more than 33,000 Palestinians in the northern West Bank. Now, Israeli leaders are threatening to bring the same mass displacement and destruction to Hebron. Implementation has already begun. Israeli forces imposed a cordon on Hebron and Halhul, while the Civil Administration began demolishing Palestinian structures in the neighborhood of Farsh al-Hawa. At the same time, Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the establishment of four new settlement farming outposts in the South Hebron Hills. Israeli leaders are openly announcing plans for collective punishment and acts that could constitute war crimes. These plans echo Israel’s devastating operations as part of the genocide in Gaza and mark a further escalation of its ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing as part of the Elimination Project in the West Bank: the systematic dismantling of Palestinian collective life while expanding settlements and entrenching permanent Israeli control. The world cannot stand by as Israel continues its assault on Palestinians, waiting for yet more neighborhoods to be emptied and erased before intervening, despite what we have already witnessed in Gaza and the northern West Bank. Governments and international bodies must act now to prevent these crimes and protect Palestinian civilians.

Excellent point
So let met get that straight: paying a wealth tax is impossible (“billionaires have no liquidity”, “it would be taxing unrealized gains”, “their wealth is virtual”) but paying half a billion to influence elections is possible. Did I understand well?

The US war on Iran is going very badly, so the US Department of War has declared a new war on... Confucius Institutes. These are academic institutions at universities that teach Chinese language, history, and culture. The horror! The US regime wants its people to be ignorant.
The War Department has designated Confucius Institutes as a threat to our national security.

There have been many absurd libels leveled at Israel but the false charge of genocide is the most dangerous lie of all. The Jewish community should turn its back on anyone who spreads that lie.
